Oh you are bringing back so many happy memories of our travels on the Continent......for me shade was always most important - I like the sun but it doesn't like my skin....hence love being in the shade....thanks for sharing this, looking forward to the next video.

Hi Bob and Jenny, trucks on Sundays are only allowed on the road if they have a running fridge. So European drivers use Sundays as their day off. The roads are quieter with less heavy goods but parking is at a premium as you are very aware. Great video as usual

we loved camping in france as u dont pay for the showers and always very clean and campsites are too.
@BobEarnshawMoHo3 жыл бұрын
Yes, strange that some sites in Europe charge extra for showers. Two sites we went to in The Netherlands charged.

Really good video. Excellent view from the window.Looks a lovely site, I always like that the French and Belgian site do well with the hedge surrounds on a pitch. I was going to rip into Jenny's pronunciation but my philosophy is , he who is without sin cast the first etc so I have NO complaints toJens wording lol. Looks a great start to a great break .😃😃😃

Hi Bob, as we love France, obviously not so much this year, always looking for new sites, and we travel the route you were on a lot, so finding this video and the campsite will certainly be added to our stopover points , thanks

This video popped up on my KZbin home page today. Thought I’d watch as we went there in 2019. Beautiful little site, we also said we wished we’d booked for longer. Enjoyed watching. 👍🚐

Great videos as usual. It brought back happy memories having stayed there twice with my late wife. It is a nice site and ideal as the first stop after getting through the tunnel. There is also a small bar on site that does some basic food like pizzas. There is a small supermarket about 150 metres away. The town does not have much in it but it's pleasant. I went cycling around the area and the roads were nice and quiet with lovely views across fields.

We liked this site, a nice quiet village.
@eddiedownes90846 жыл бұрын
At the site now, where you peaked over the hedge is where we are. As well as on site fishing there is a fishery just out of the village centre, mainly trout I think. That has a nice lunchtime restaurant that does lovely food. Some long term stayers at the site told us the village shop stocks just about everything, and that staff in the nearby pharmacy are very helpful. Apart from a small tabac that is all there is. If you want peace and quiet it’s a great little place. There are lots of walks in the area. Roomiest showers I have been too in a long while, and toilets with seats and paper!

Yes we'd go back there.

Hi Bob, Love watching your journeys, if you get a chance could you take some video of the Motorhome service points or the equivalent on your walkabouts just to see what they are like over there? Thanks, Keep it up, great job. 👍

Love this site, since you filmed this, they have opened a new entrance way, approx 100yds before this one, this now being exit only. Stopped here in 22, having previously been in ‘17 and it caught us out. There is a New reception and restaurant at the new entrance.

Do you use maps and pre plan it and confirm it with the sat nav ( love the way you say it’s easy , I would get lost in the railway depot at Dover ) why did you not take toll roads ( cost ) Sunday better day to drive no lorries thanks trying to plan trip to Italy next year so trying to get all the tips we can
@BobEarnshawMoHo4 жыл бұрын
We prebooked the sites on this trip with the Caravan and Motorhome Club, and used the sat nav to get between sites. Think if you have the time you'll see more of France by taking the Route Nationale and back roads.

Loving the series so far. Are the procedures for setting up the same on the continent as they are in the UK (taps, waste, electric etc)? Regards, Michael
@BobEarnshawMoHo6 жыл бұрын
Good point, most sites have different arrangements for filling up and emptying water, I tend to used a wastemaster and aquaroll. The electric hookup so far have tended to be the same, the blue plug and socket that we are used to in the UK.
@RailAdventUK6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that :)

Bob, Long drive, how many miles (km) ? Did you have electric hook up, can you drink the water in France or do you use bottle water. How does the site compare to the Caravan and Motorhome club sites ? Think we have now got set in our ways and prefer good old Blighty, looking forward to our Peak District tour starting next week, will still be following your European tour but will not be envious ! Hope all goes well, keep cool and collected on those European roads.
@BobEarnshawMoHo6 жыл бұрын
We've driven about 900km since we left Home. This site was one of the best I've been in Europe and compares very well to CCC and CAMC sites. It has 10amp Electric Hook Up. I don't tend to drink water straight from the tap, because we use a Brita filter jug. Having said that there's nothing wrong with French drinking water these days. Thanks, it's been a bit warm today.
