I have been revisiting the Euro Trip 2018 videos, and I’m reminded of how well you two work together during your travels. You complement each other very nicely as you journey to the different locations. Thanks again for such an enjoyable time!

Hi Bob & Jenny. We just wanted to tell you that we finally bought a motorhome today. Its a Hymer Tramp T698. We get it in 2-3 weeks. 2015 22,000 miles. 45k. We just wanted to give a huge thank you for all your informative videos, you probably will never realise how much they have helped. After buying it at the Market Raisen show we walked around buying all the essentials you advised in your essential to have, nice to have, luxury to have (or whatever you called the 3 videos). We got a lot of it but didnt bother with the tin of mixed vegetables or electric toothbrush you advised because we already own both lol. We really just wanted to let you know we appreciate the effort and time you put into the videos and we really hope to meet up with you both one day soon. Take care, have a lovely weekend and stay happy. Dan & Mazzy :-)

Hi Bob, We stopped of at Camping Le Brabois, in 2014 (August) with our caravan, on the way to Southern Germany. We are doing the same again this year, in July. It is certainly a very convenient place as a stopover. Lokking forward to seeing the place again after 5 years. Jonathan.

Excellent series up to now, like you when I go to France I do rely on my sat nav a lot, it makes me wonder though how they managed years ago relying just on maps with all the family packed into the Ford Cortina with no air con 8)

My Mum was always armed with a winecrate full of yellow Michelin maps; one for every region. And a tattered old copy of the famous Michelin Guide for places to stay or eat of course. So old that the restaurant had often changed name or simply disappeared. Good times!

I am really enjoying this trip because it is giving me an insight into driving on the continent as I am planning to do a six week trip in the future. It is also reassuring to hear the sat nav dishing out instructions as you go along, but the best part is the detail that you cover it makes me feel that I am there. Safe travelling and stay safe.

Excellent series. I've never had the opportunity to go camping like this. Makes me want to get a camper van at least. Thanks for the advice on brakes at 8:11. I drive a 5-speed standard (in America!) and usually put the emergency brake on when getting it washed.

Unfamiliarity is the biggest cause of motor accidents for foreigners in a foreign country, we get a lot of that in New Zealand as well with tourists.

Great video Bob, yous both seem to be so chilled and enjoying life. I'm retired now and the wife retires in March 19, we re off to the NEC in Oct to try and decide on what Motorhome to buy. We are currently downsizing our home so we can have a base location as we have grandchildren in the area. We are really looking forward to like yous spending most of the time on the road enjoying quality time together and visiting places we haven't been to. Tony

In most countrys of Europa you don't flash in the Roundabout... Give only a flash if you are leaving the Roundabout. But: nice to see you in France and hear you struggeling with Euros and Croissants. Hope that GB will come back into EU! And yes: i love Fish&Chips, Croissants, German Sausages, French Wine and so on! Europe is a family .- i miss GB!

Great video though i have to say ice only been towing for a year and would like to go to the somme region at sometime but totally confused with the roads how do you get on with the mirror when entering on a motorway.

Getting on the motorway is easy and I can see clearly traffic on the motorway from the left hand mirror. I would image with decent towing mirrors, you'll be fine too.

Bob, Is the roads always so quiet away from the toll roads, so far your road trips look nice and peaceful ? Have you ever been caught out in the toilet block video's, or have they always been censored ? Is Poppy and Tara holding out with all the travelling, apart from the occasional bark or two we have not seen much of them so far ! Is the goal to meet up with friends in Luxembourg ? Will you be back in time for the Caravan and Motorhome show in Birmingham, or will you be giving it a miss this year , no chance I would bet ?
@BobEarnshawMoHo
@BobEarnshawMoHo 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your questions. The roads in France, especially away from motorways are refreshingly quiet. Not been caught out yet filming in the showers, mind you I do check before I go in. Poppy and Tara are pretty good dogs and tend not to bother me too much when filming, I'll try and feature them more in upcoming videos, they are always popular. We're meeting our friend Anniemie in Antwerp, and Glyn and Sharon at Ypres. Yes I'ĺl be at the NEC Show. Wouldn't want to miss that.

Enjoying your travels through France. Our Aussie daughter lives in Paris so we do a bit ourselves. I'm assuming you haven't mastered the language yet. I'm struggling myself. One way to impress your viewers is to learn how to pronounce place names properly like "Brabwa" for Brabois ( "oi" is always "wa" sound, last letter nearly always silent). Google translate will be useful for this. Maybe some day we'll rent a camper too, or "camping-car" as they call it. Santé.

Thanks, but we've found it's more fun for the viewers if we try our own pronunciations first!

I enjoy your video of france travel. It might be nice to have more variation, for example, costs involved, going through the tolls,the day to day living in the Camper, getting and cost of fuel etc. It would be more interesting to watch and dare I say not as boring. Also as a Camera Operator could I recommend that you try to avoid continual panning from side to side,it makes the view rather seasick.

Thanks for your comments. Sorry but we don't tend to record costs of going on holiday. We just want to enjoy yourselves without worrying about how much it costs. Life's too short. We're trying to avoid tolls as we want to see more of the countryside. I put 40 litres of diesel in today in a countryside garage and it was €1.63 a litre. I do around 27mpg. Yes you're right about the panning, I used the hero 5 in the showers and waved the camera about way too much. Trying to rush before anyone came in. :-)

Great video and very entertaining as always - But I've just got to help you out with some of those pesky French word pronunciations ;-) ....... Reims is simply "Rem" - Troyes is "Twah" the s is silent - And Brabois is "Brab-whar" - Hopefully will help if you visit again in the future! Stay safe on the road!!
