Nice to see Stroud Hill site again, we stayed there in our new Broadway Motorhome and ended up at the local hospital as hubby injured his finger, he trapped his finger in the hinge on the large fold up table. (Take care opening the tables) The site staff were wonderful and helped us at that worrying time. You both do a great job even during the extreme hot weather, providing us with such interesting and informative videos. Looking forward to Duxford. Take care, C & S xx

We enjoyed our visit last year. We took a day trip to St Ives and had adult beverages by the river 😉 One small point, Stroud Hill charged £2 per night for a tow car unless you leave it near the gate. We found that a little unusual as caravanners didn’t experience this. 🚐 Trev

Hi bob and Jenny we have the same front roof skylight as your a good tip to stop the sun and heat coming into your Motorhome and does work and keeps it a lot cooler even when it 37 plus degrees is to cut a thermal screen to fit your sun roof sky light 👍
@BobEarnshawMoHo4 жыл бұрын
That's sounds interesting, where does that fit?
@mrmrst90204 жыл бұрын
Bob Earnshaw I’ve cut the thermal to fit in and put four suckers and popped them straight to the inside of the sun roof and slide the screens back across job done I think I should do a Video of it really does work a treat and does keep you cool when really hot and warm in the colder days Glen

Thanks guys we are really enjoying this tour one of our favourite sites is a tranquil parks site at eye Kettleby lakes. With regards to air conditioning we had a Truma unit fitted in our van last year I persuaded Peter we needed it for the doggies 😊 it’s a big investment but we are pleased with it - I have to say we were very grateful for it last week in Dorset - we have also been to Europe and it has been welcome respite from the heat - looks like our trip to Europe in September won’t be happening so busy trying to find a couple of sites where we can take ourselves off for a few days - safe travels 😊
@lynnmic14174 жыл бұрын
Bob we have aircon fitted in our van and when we change it will be the first thing we order. The one we have is roof mounted and is about 40kg and you loose a skylight we have been looking at a new van and want to get an under floor one fitted it’s lighter and like our current one will also heat the van. It’s a must you won’t regret it but you also need to take into account what supply you have on site as it can trip the power if you have too many things running(like we did the other day on a 10 amp supply).
Aircon is interchangeable from van to van provided you have a 400x400mm rooflight for it to drop into.
@jacquelinetaylor86834 жыл бұрын
We have a roof mounted A/C unit the Dometic fresh light. It replaces a roof light but still retains the roof light within the A/C unit so there is no loss of natural light. They rumble a bit at night so we tend not to use it at night. It also has to be taken into account that they do eat in to the pay load as they weigh quite a bit. Ours came with the van but they are a considered purchase at £2 grand. If you had blown air heating it would have been handy just to have used the the unit for just blowing the air around in the van.

We recently went to The Old Oaks at Glastonbury for the first time, one of the Tranquil Parks. Absolutely beautiful and immaculately kept. Very spacious, well spaced pitches with lots of open space and gardens. We had one that had partial shade from trees in various places throughout the day. The facilities block (which we didn’t use) has individual shower/toilet washrooms. Lovely local produce from the site shop, including eggs from the resident hens, takeaway food options most evenings, a fishing pond and woodland walks. We don’t have a dog, but they also have a dog shower and doggy paddling pool. Would thoroughly recommend it.

No wonder there were loads of traffic cones(wish I had the patent for them) the state of the potholes. New van has aircon, did a good deal when we ordered it new. The Defender has a remote app where you can switch on aircon/heater to chill it down before getting in. Our old dogs really appreciate it even though they are Spanish Water Dogs and bred for the heat!Guy.

Hi Bob & Jenny, Its been nice to meet you both! I'm a newbie & have booked my first pitch on 9/9/20 at South Lytchett Manor, Dorset, just up the road from me. There for 9 nights then A 8 week tour before returning home to Southbourne to plan my next tour. I think I've watched everyone of your vids & have found them very informative & enabled me to glean a lot of knowledge!!! Thanks for that. Please don't think i'm being flippant but I feel you spend a lot of your air time, videoing your journey on the road travelling, which can become a bit boring. Because of your vast experience i find myself waiting for your next snippet of knowledge so I can learn from it, rather watching miles of road stretching out before you both & Poppy!! Maybe, it might be an idea to concentrate on site facilities, surrounding area's points of interest & your general knowledge of equipment etc. Now i've started my journey, I hope we bump into each other, so I can shake your hands or bump elbows or what ever we do now days, and you can relate some more of your experiences to me. Regards, John.

Thanks, I think, but sorry you find our journey a bit boring. One of things I've always done is try to show how we get to a site and the approach, something many of my 13,000 subscribers seem to find useful. Plus, for us the journey is almost as important as the site.

Hi Bob and Jenny! I'm a new subscriber from across the pond (in Ohio). I just want to thank you for sharing your wonderful adventures. I dream of the day that I'll be able to visit the many places your videos have allowed me to see. I do have one question as an American viewer and owner of a travel trailer (caravan): Do any of the caravan club parks permit campfires? For me, it's odd to not see a campsite (pitch) without a fire pit ring like we have here in the state and privately owned campgrounds.

Great video as always both. I did feel sorry for you both in that heat! I was away in my caravan two weeks ago and it hit 31°C outside, only difference been I had air conditioning fitted last year - absolute bliss and highly recommend. Yes it’s an investment, but remember for a small cost, it is easily swapped between vehicles, so can last you many years and many different vans. I chose a Telair model, as it was £1700 fitted and can also work as a heatpump too. So it can be used year round. I do also highly recommend the portable www.coolmycamper.com for c.£600. I had one of them before I chose to fit the roof mounted unit. Only down side is that are heavy and bulky to set up and you have to remember to put in the van if it’s going to be hot! Stay safe (and cool) on the road, and keep up with the great work!
