From June 8th, international passenger operations at Incheon International Airport will be normalized and the number of foreign tourists visiting Korea will increase. And it seems that there are some people who came to Korea and settled in Korea at all. I don't know if there are many foreigners like that, but welcome to Korea.

Hey Evan! What a helpful informative video of yours! I have a question though, I plan to do a 17-hour layover in Incheon Airport, are the free Transit Tours now open? Thank you for your support! I took a quick look at the Incheon airport website and it seems that they are not offering the free transit tours right now. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am using the hotel address from the hotel website. I can't finish my K-ETA without entering this information. Do you have any tips on this?
@evaninkorea2 жыл бұрын
Hi Meredith, thank you for your comment! Postal codes in Korea are always 5 numerical digits in a row. For the address, it is common that it will say: 'Gangnam-Daero AA-gil BB' Meaning that the closest major boulevard is Gangnam-daero, the street that you are on is AA (Gil means street) and BB is the number of the building. Sometimes, when entering addresses, you need to just type in the 5 digit postal code number, and then search for the corresponding address from a list that will pop up. Maybe I could make a video about this :) I hope this helps!

But I feared the quarantine hotels. So I’m glad that I can isolate in my room. At least for now. I’m not sure if they come to visit, to check on me (they do have your adres) or if they let you be. As much as you may dislike the word "wrong", I am afraid you are in fact sharing a couple of wrong (or at least skewed) things here. The first, as mentioned previously in your comments, is the bit about Q-Code. It is NOT mandatory to register through Q-Code in order to enter S. Korea, but it is recommended. This is even mentioned in the NOTICE tab, on the Q-Code website. Secondly, you do not three vaccinations to be considered Fully Vaccinated. I spoke to the Korean Embassy today and confirmed that a traveler is considered fully vaccinated after 2 doses of a WHO approved vaccine. (Boosters are also recommended). I understand you're providing information you read on the official website. However, if you call the Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency, prior to uploading your videos, they can clear a few things up. Remember, these are delicates times and people are finding it difficult to find the proper information, so it's important to confirm the information we're sharing before we post it online.
@pmkz79702 жыл бұрын
I found that this video contains some wrong information as well
@dieeego2 жыл бұрын
@@pmkz7970 I actually called the Q-Code phone line today, because I am coming to S. Korea in a few days. I was told that starting today, Foreigners vaccinated abroad won't have to register with Q-Code anymore. Instead, they will have to enter the Covid Section when they arrive, take a test and if the result is negative they can go freely. Then, they have 24 hours to register their vaccinations in a Public Health center. They said this new information will be updated on their website Tomorrow (May 24th, 2022). So do not take my word for it, instead go check the official sites for confirmation of this information when they update tomorrow.
@evaninkorea2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dieeego, I appreciate your comment. While it is difficult to hear that my information is "wrong", I agree that it is important to upload correct information in times of uncertainty. I called the Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency I would like to clarify your points. 1. I should have clarified in my previous video, the Q-Code is required to enter S. Korea AND to be exempt from Quarantine. I called the Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency to confirm this. I learned recently that it is possible to complete the Q-Code at Incheon Airport before passing immigration, or to show your vaccination certificates to an official there. It is now my understanding that if you do not register for the Q-Code in advance of entering S. Korea, you will be required to present your vaccination information at the airport (which has the effect of registering yourself for Q-Code, only it takes longer). If you do not register for the Q-Code in advance or present vaccine information at Incheon Airport, you will be required to quarantine. Thank you for clarifying this point. 2. I am quite certain about the requirement of a 3rd vaccination if 180 days have elapsed from the 2nd vaccination. Again, I asked the Korean Disease Control and Prevention Agency about this, and they confirmed that the booster shot is required if 180 days have elapsed, including for foreigners who were vaccinated overseas. Additionally, I received a document at the airport containing the following information: Who are those that completed vaccination? [Definition] Those who completed the 2nd vaccination or the 3rd (booster) vaccination as of the date of entry and are able to prove their history of vaccination. [Standards for completion of vaccination] For the period of 14-180 days after the 2nd vaccination approved in WHO, Efficacy of 3rd (booster) vaccination will be acknowledged from the date of the said vaccination (no set validity period) [CAUTION] Individuals who have completed overseas vaccination must submit a certificate of vaccination history via the quarantine-Covid defense (Q-CODE) system. If you have spent time in Korea, you will know how common it is to receive different information from different people. I am trying to provide my viewers with the 'safest' information, meaning that I corroborate information from my own experience, the KDCA, and other sources. If you think that any of the information that I have provided in this comment is inaccurate, please let me know. Thank you for your comment and support!
@dieeego2 жыл бұрын
@@evaninkorea Hello Evan, thank you for the kind response. So, here's what I experienced entering South Korea 2 days ago (I have just arrived to Seoul). 1. You are correct, it is now possible to arrive at Incheon airport without being registered on Q-Code. However, from what I saw, it will take double or triple the time to enter the country if you do not register via Q-Code. I had my Q-Code registration, so for me it was much quicker. The line for those without Q-code was at least 3 times longer/slower. 2. I presented my Q-Code registration upon being interviewed and I want to reiterate. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE 3 VACCINES. I only have 2 doses of Pfizer, I do not have a booster shot. Additionally I should mention that my 2nd dose of Pfizer was administered October of last year, so it's well over the specified time. They did not give me any issues and I was cleared from having to quarantine. I also received the same paper when I arrived, but I think the information on that paper (as well as the information provided by the Korean Disease Control line) is outdated. I agree with you, it is difficult to determine what's true and what isn't, since the information seems contradictive. However, from my personal experience entering Korea (2 days ago) I can say that what I was told was true.

HI: You need to make an updated VID on 1 JUNE as you may know, the arrival pcr test can be done between 1 and 3 days....and the test on day 6 can be done with an AT HOME TEST......just saying,,update on 1 June for everyone....

Thank you for the info! EDIT: I have checked this info on the MOFA website. Currently, the PCR test taken after arriving in Korea must be taken within 1 day as I mentioned in my video. As of June first, it will change to 1-3 days.

Your giving a bit of wrong information (you give the impression the Qcode is mandatory..it is not....the QCODE is NOT required for short term tour visit to Korea for up to 90 days....A person can enter Korea either with or without the Qcode.....If you have it....the line at the airport for processing is SHORTER...if you do NOT have the Qcode, the line is longer for them to check all your documents....Many enter without the Qcode and OF COURSE have been FULLY Vaccinated (just show in an american's case the CDC card proving fully vaccinated......I am not being critical of your post,,,this part was just not fully explained.....Tks for your video, it is very helpful to many....BTW I stayed in Korea for over 30 years off and on, but have not returned past 2 years due to Covid..planning on going back in several months, as everything is now being easy to enter and stay....Just saying..TKS...

I have checked the info you mentioned in your comment. On this page of the Q-Code website (cov19ent.kdca.go.kr/cpassportal/biz/beffatstmnt/guide.do) in section 2, it says: "The issuance of QR-Code should be completed before boarding the airplane." I would appreciate it if you do not call my video 'wrong information'. I will use official sources to provide my viewers with the most accurate information. Thank you your comments and support for my video.

This is true. I arrived on 19th of May, there were 2 lines, one for the filled paper with your info and another for the QR-code. Both are the same, The QR-code is for everyone that want to do it faster. I could get my QR code while in the line and I could skip the line, otherwise I had had to give my information filling the papers and it had taken so much time cause many people didn’t have the QR code. Then they scan my QR code so it was much faster than the paper thing.

@@Lucia3scobar I am 78 yrs old..downloading the qcode is difficult for me at the point where I must download photo of PCR test results....too hard...for me...so I will just fill out the forms they give on the airplane and stand in the longer line...I cannot fill out the qcode while in the line, as HERE or THERE I still have problem with photo download...Thanks your reply

@@Blueskytoday that’s alright you can do it like that too, other people don’t have internet for example so thankfully is not just QR code or nothing, they still give you the paper option
