Devil's Tower is one place we definitely had in our sites while traveling through this part of the country. We've been very excited to see this one up close and personal. This videos shows us getting to the campsite which is as the base of the monument right next to the entry gate, and also making our way up to the visitors center. I'll have a separate video showing our hike and experience at Devil's Tower.

I was there in 1986. We hiked around it. It didn’t take very long. When we were there, there were rock climbers climbing the wall.

I was there on December 95 and it was snowing with flakes the size of silver dollars while visiting my long-lost Dad that lived in Gillette Wyoming. I found him after years of looking for him, the first time I saw him was in 1956, then not again until 1995. This was before the internet but made many phone calls.

I've heard Devil's Post Tower. Likely changed. The tower is stacks and stacks of crystals grown as the volcano cooled. It is cool. There is one in the South pacific - mostly underwater and before written word. They built a fortress out of it. Heavy stuff.

Your absolutely correct my friend. All the proof is right there.Funny how most don't believe that or understand how wood changes over time,a very long time. I guess unless the criminal misleading gov hasn't told them what it really is ,those people have a inability to see what's directly in front of them. That said, it's even more obvious what's wrong with this world today.

@@cj599 Just did some quick calculations based on General Sherman's size and age. Roughly, if it was a tree, it would have been 45- 50 thousand years old when it..... fell down... some how. There are fossils of Sequoia, although much smaller, that resemble the color and look of Devil's Tower. Not saying it is a tree stump, not saying it isn't. Looking at the surrounding landscape, it is curious. But volcanic, it could be also. Millions of years is a long time for erosion to occur. Some people watch TV or play video games. I explore curiosity.
