hey, Jason, I Am the First one to comment, I could not do Field Day because of the heat it was 104 degrees & I got Heart problems. I talked to Bud W3FF, he created the Buddipole and Buddistick. his son Chris runs the Company up in the Portland Area. I told him when the BuddiHex is coming out, I told him he said that how did I hear about it. I told him several Hams I follow on youtube have been doing reviews for the prototype. he has one at his home in Redding, CA.

Where was this? How often do this come up? If it's allowed, I would like to attend as an observer. I am absolutely brand new to this 'hobby' and am trying to figure out which radio to get first and which license to get first. Since I'm not wanting to pay $70 for a GMRS license when it should be $35, (I'm waiting for that price to drop), I figure that I'll start reading up on and studying for the Technician Class license; again not know which handheld radio to get first. I want to buy the right equipment the first time out. For the GMRS radio, I'm looking at getting the Wouxun KG-UV9G or the Wouxun KG-905G. For the handheld HAM, I've been hearing a lot of pros/cons on the Baofeng UV5R; I'm sure there's something better, though. Anyway, I'm in the Dallas, Texas area and would like a good mentor to help me excel quickly in this new world of communications that I've found myself blindly walking into. Any advice, good or bad, will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! ~Robert

Hey Jason, any tips on where/how to find ham mentor? Been studying since before covid but neuro condition makes things take longer, and I might ask really ridiculous questions according to some 😬 thx, love to all my hams 🐖📻❤️

Looks like you had a great time. What was the logging software you were all using and was it networked? 73 Liam GM4VYQ

Hi Liam, we were using N3FJP. And yes, it was networked together using a local router and TCP within the software.

40M just just a horizontal delta loop, verticals just too much noise!

Probably a good thing most of you didn't need to take field sobriety tests to operate for field day lol.
