Have removed the max 6 setup from mine and fitted the Spektrum firma from my v2 infraction getting 56 mph on grass with 15 tooth pinion and stock spur. have put LSD plates in rear dif. and 40/500/20 diff fluid. not temp gunned it but it passed the touch test. thanks for your fan video found it very helpful for my infraction build project.

Nice - really dont think it needs to go any faster than 56/7 for bashing, that new Firma set up looks good 👍 im still running stock diff oils - with the LSD it just felt to stiff in the center, but everyone has different tastes and driving styles. Im glad the fan video was helpful 👍👍 what is you doing to your infraction ?

@@HardcoreRC The infraction is turning in to a money pit build { can't help my self sometimes } tp power motor. mamba monster x. tons of hot racing parts. grp tires/ wheels and a lot of import duty lol.

I have the exact set up , I also had trouble keeping front end down , I changed the punch from 3 to 2 , added a 20t pinion lowered the car and the kraton dosent lift until you hit 75%

Yep that will work, although have found that going over 60mph with the copperheads tends to kill the foams quite quickly so now just use the wheelie pulling as the market to slow down 😂

We still have the Copperhead 2 on this car, however i do prefer the Backflips on the 6s cars

I have the same setup but with a 18 tooth pinion get 55 mph flat out on grass with mine. Temps on the motor without any fan 75 C and ESC 32 C. I have the same issue really difficult to keep the front down! Been thinking about putting a Hobbywing 4274 2200 kv motor in instead and gearing it down. Not sure that motor will be OK with the max 6 esc though.

Its a great set up. Norm driving and bashing i haven't had an issue of the front coming up, just when trying to get the power down for the speed runs. The 4274 2200kv motor should be fine as its rated for 6s and 1/8th scale, will also be fine on the Max6 ESC. Will be better than the Max8 as that would need the extra Caps added due to weight of EXB (was the main reason i went with the Max6 combo, so i didn't have to solder the caps on 😂😂

Its a great set up for the EXB, font does like to pull up at speed. Wish we could get SMC packs in the UK

Finally got this a couple of weeks ago along with a Max8 Combo. Had a disaster, ESC went up in smoke after 15 minutes or so on the first run. Its now gone to Hobbywing for warranty, though according to guys on Arrma forum I'm unlikely to get a credit off them 😣. Now in the hunt for a max 6

Max8 combo in my opinion is really at the bottom end of what system is needed, if you do run a max8 i would suggest fitting the extra caps that come with it. Hopefully it will get warrantied but likely just a new one sent out. I always go for a Max6 now in any 1/8th car if swapping out, its just so much more capable than the max8

@@HardcoreRC Yeah it's still bit of a learning curve for me. Saw the Max8 advertised on Modelsport as part of their starter package with the car, only to find out after the incident happened that hobbywing themselves don't recommend it for the Kraton.

@@cliffjones9922 Its ok for the Kraton, but really at minimum spec and for belts and braces needs the extra caps fitted. The Max8 combo is basically the same as what gets fitted to the RTR cars, but they also have the extra caps fitted. My opinion its just easier to put a Max6 in, no extra work and lots of head room for more POWER 😂😂

@@HardcoreRC That's kinda what I thought. I'm new to 6s so thought I'd start off slowly and go Max8. Read the instructions and it recommend cap pac if car was over 7kg (kraton was just less than 5kg) or if doing speed runs. I was only taking it as a short 1st run so thought I'd be ok and would fix cap pack later. In hindsight, I should of edged on the side of caution and fitted it, but still don't think the ESC should of gone like it did on its first run. @@cliffjones9922 First of all dont give up, the Kraton EXB is a great RC, it has a few weak areas, but over all its a great car, my favourite. Im guess you bought through Modelsport who are excellent and also the ESC went within warranty so it should get replaced, once you get it back get the extra caps on and enjoy your car. Its likely you just got a bad ESC first time, sadly like all electrics it happens

Thinner center diff oil will send more power to the front keeping in down.

Im only running 300k in the center, dont want to drop it down as will effect the drivability more on general running, plus could cook the diff as using a 1650kv motor

Hi, ive got the exact same set up apart from the battery's and its a beast, just wondering what heat sink and fan your using for the motor as ive been looking but cant find one to fit the 49mm diameter of the motor

Yep its a beast all right 👍👍 fan is made per my fan video on the channel, heat sink is Hobbywing, just strecht it to fit, its 44mm diameter, so i shrink to fit the BLX systems and stretch to fit the hobbywing 😂😂 www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=392681

Yep she moves - im happy with the speed as max it can on the 19t tooth is 59mph so the grass doesnt slow it down much 👍👍

I’m gonna be getting the same set up 1650 KV do you reckon it’ll go faster on pavement?Also is that stock oil in the center deaf I think I might go with 500 K in the center so it doesn’t lift so much

1650kv is the perfect motor for these rigs, yes its goes faster on pavement - have another video on that with the Talion an Mojave EXB speed running on tarmac. Diff oils are all stock

Yes the diffs were all good, can only think it was either the tires, wet grass, or more likely i had lost the cover for the rear sway bar as i didnt screw it down when i last worked on it 😂😂 you can see its missing at 8:19

EXB comes with a 50 tooth spur as stock (also comes with a 12 tooth pinion if your going to run something like a BLX 2050kv or Hobbywing 2200kv motor)

LOL - yep, its just been on the EXB, have to check after each run and had to glue tires after each run, just dont think they were stuck down very well from factory

Thanks, not had any issues until the EXB, even after bashing the tires have been coming undone, just not glued that well at factory 😂😂 once all the factory glued bits have come undone and been re-glued by me will all be good 👍👍👍

Lol. Normally you run it without fans, check the temps, then add fans if needed. Your temp readings are pretty much null and void.

Hardly null and void, most cars come with fans on the heat sinks, no harm in having fans to keep temps down, also then allows me to gear it up if i need to, which i have now as running 21 tooth
