Does the front diff have the outer shim and gasket as well? I didn't see those on mine
@marc-andrelemieux97696 жыл бұрын
Is it me or at 14:57, you are putting those "Metal Cross Shaft Insert" on the wrong side? On the exploded view from Arrma's website, the flat part sits on the planetary gears.

The flat spot is fine, the points that need to be strong are. It’s incredibly simple engineering.
@mrb29176 жыл бұрын
You can't just use any black rubber o-ring, you must use silicon o-rings, the red ones in this video
@mrb29176 жыл бұрын
Also the silicon o-rings Arrma gives you aren't junk, they aren't too big. They swell with diff fluid after being in there for a while. If you can't get them back in there for your rebuild then you just use new ones from Arrma, they're cheap.
@Dartheomus5 жыл бұрын
For the o-rings, it would be easier if you seat the ring and then use a hollow tube (or a socket) to hold the ring in place while you press the out-drive through.

What type of automotive solvent are you using for cleaning the gears? Is it auto degreaser?
@alexperea206 жыл бұрын
It's Master Pro Parts cleaning solvent I got it at O'Reilly's I got a parts washer for an like a real vehicle to clean parts so I got A5 gallon thing of it two of them but you may be able to get smaller portions or if you don't want to do that you can also use a brake cleaner and a toothbrush if you don't want to get automobile parts solvent which I think the solvent really really really works very very well but if you don't want to get the solvent I'd recommend 3M brake cleaner that stuff works awesome if you're in a pinch

Bro I have the arrma outcast,and I'm ready to do my first diff service on it but not so sure on what wheight oil to use any suggestions? I trust in your knowledge im doing all 3 and I only run 6s,thanks Alex yur help will be much needed
@alexperea206 жыл бұрын
Hello thank you for taking time to watch the video I really appreciate it all I run in my arrma kraton V3 is 6s lipo power only my personal recommendation is 42.5 weight shock oil from Team Associated and then running 100K front and rear differential fluid and then using a 500K in the center differential make sure to clean the differentials in like brake cleaner get a few cans of brake cleaner or automobile parts solvent cleaner that's what I personally prefer as always thank you so much for watching the videos it is greatly appreciated

love your vidieos. your good. my delemema is not related to this vidieo but I would greatly appreciate your advice. I have traxxas stuff id charers and traxxas batts. want to install hobby wing esc cant figure out a goog way to switch esc and continue to use my batterys and chargers. particularly on my 8 s x maxx. would love your advice, unless you say change all batterys and chargers thanks alex. A again like you how to vids.
@alexperea206 жыл бұрын
Thank you so very much for taking the time out of your day to watch my videos I want to get that right off my chest also Traxxas batteries aren't bad they're not the best Traxxas Chargers I had one they're not the best either that's my honest opinion I'm not saying you can't use them or they're not working for you that's totally fine what I would recommend know if you're going to put an aftermarket ESC in your X Maxx 8s for example like the hobby when you were speaking of I would strongly recommend changing connectors to bare minimum xt90 S I would personally prefer Castle Creations 6.5 mm connectors because that ESC is drawing a lot more amps and Traxxas connectors are only rated for maybe 50 amps Max so the Trap the Traxxas connectors aren't the best for a high-power speed control the Castle Creations connectors R rated at 200 amps continuous it's a lot more safer for your speed control your electronics your motor especially your batteries if you're speaking trolls drawing too much amps and your battery connector is not strong enough to transport those amps to the speed control you're going to toast your batteries that is my recommendation you'll probably have to get a different charger to use Castle connectors but that is my honest recommendation for you for safety and reliability and everything else
