Oh man I just loved watching that ! I recall in the early days of the original Arrma FB group, there were a few guys getting laughed at for saying how good the Typhon was as an all rounder & basher.... Not anymore ! My truggified Typhon is an absolute little tank....I just got some original Badlands 2.8's to try.... I've been using mostly truggy wheels/tires and MX28'S.... It handles them all ! I loved that high speed 2 wheel drift towards the end with the bloke laughing ! 😎🤙

Thanks so much Brother Eric 😜!!!! I'd been totally cringing to run the Talion 😍. Definitely was a bummer discovering that motor connector came undone again 😱. I'm gonna start carrying some solder and my mini torch. It works Killer so long as the wires are already tinned. Definitely credit M2C and Voltage for her keeping her shape 👍. Hopefully clear that jump with the buggy wheels next time. Felt KILLER to get some track and field time with the Talion 😍!!!! Derren Mead you can . Pack it in your luggage or take the tires off and pack it in carry on. Then your lipos must be labeled with kw rating no more than 120. Each battery must be in its own zip lock style bag . If your doing 6s bricks you will be limited to 3 . But most others (3s 5000 mah 50c for example) you can bring multiples. That is current FCC guidelines. Each airline is alittle different but pretty close. I took my summit with paddles to Hawaii end of last year, no problems. Other than from my wife. Hey Rich, Another great video. I wanted to ask your opinion on the Typhon 3s. I have one (currently replacing the front shock tower/upper diff cover while watching your video). I am curious what exactly you would do to make the Typhon 3s as durable as possible. I've seen many of your videos but can't seem to piece together all of the information I'm looking for. What factory parts from other Arrma rigs would you use if any and what aftermarket parts would you use? Thanks for any help you can provide. 👍👍
@richduperbash29665 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brother 👊!!! I think the main thing with keeping the 3s rigs durable is maintaining the weight savings. Don't add heavy aftermarket electronics, huge wheels, or unnecessary parts. Buggy towers are somewhat vulnerable by design as they are exposed more. The only hop ups I really did were more geared towards performance; Hot Racing motor mount, Robinson Racing pinion, rubber sealed bearings in the center driveline. I did upgrade to offset Badlands 2.8 wheels I glued to F11 17mm hex rims. They offer a wider stance and less flipping over rugged terrain. Also higher top speeds and way more cushion and air control. The GPM steering knuckles were the only real durability upgrade I did to all my 3s rigs. Going to 4mm shocks was the other strength and performance upgrade. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Absolutely brilliant videos bud, completely new to rc and these are wicked! Quick question (and I have tried various forums and Facebook groups first). I have a talion 6s, pretty standard apart from a heatsink/fan fitted. Took it out the other day for a speed run with the 20t pinion fitted and it just wanted to wheely and flip even when trying to be less aggressive on the throttle. I've been advised I might need to change the thickness if the fluid in the diffs but the advise seems to vary massively to the point I'm no better off lol. The talion has 10k/100k/10k as standard, what would you recommend to try in order to try and keep it more planted when accelerating? I've even turned the punch setting back down to 3 or 4 whereas it was on 9 when I had the 13t fitted
@richduperbash29664 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Mark 🤗!!!! I run 50/200/20k front to rear mostly and it works great 👍. 20T is pretty tall gearing 👀. Because I often swap between stock Katars and bigger Backflip LP's (Outcast 4s wheels), I run 18T to avoid overheating in Sacramento weather. These BLX motors really wind up hard. Dialing the punch back might help, but venting your tires, tuning the diffs, and moderating throttle delivery at the trigger is key. 🍻😎💪👊👊
@markashman77714 жыл бұрын
@@richduperbash2966 thanks for the reply bud, tbh, I only fitted the 20t for a speed run, didn't know what to expect but it was like a caged animal unleashed lol. Originally I had the 13t that comes with it and had the punch up at 9, for general driving I've also got an 18t, just wanted to see what it would do top end but inevitably struggled to find out because it was nearly impossible to keep all 4 wheels on the ground! Would you say I should go 50k front, 200k middle and 20k rear to start with? Is that likely to improve its composure and help keep the wheels on the ground? I understand if you pull the trigger all the way from the get go it'll wheely or flip but this was even when up at a constant speed at say 3/4 throttle and when you pulled it that bit more it would flip. I've ordered the infraction 6s wheels for speed runs but something beefier when off road. The backflips get good feedback to be fair

Love the Talion. Been having a great time with it. How do you setup your suspension for these big jumps Rich? Do you use the recommended 2kcst in the shocks? Stock springs? I've played around with the shocks quite a bit and always end up going back to stock, but wouldn't mind like one cm more clearance if I could do it without jacking up the preload a ton. Thought about putting Kraton springs in the rear, but there just doesn't seem to be any good alternatives to the front spring. Would love like maybe one more lb/in in the front.

Great question James 👊. I'd ran the stock shocks and oils for a long time with the collars dialed down to maintain arms level running. Recently rebuilt them with fresh 2000cst and now trying Tekno Orange Truggy springs up front. They're a bit softer than stock, but longer so I'm getting a bit more rebound. Not sure I'm liking it more, the jury is still out. My front stockers seemed to lose a bit of rebound after repeated beatings 😱🤣🤣. The wheels obviously play a big role too. 🍻😎💪👊👊

@@richduperbash2966 thanks for the reply - I tried the tkr6093 in front and felt the same way - jury still out. Used the longer length with some preload to compensate for the softer rate but felt like it messed up my small bump compliance having so much preload. I'm wondering if the Mojave 70mm 7.7lb springs might be a nice medium.. a bit softer and a bit longer instead of a lot softer and a lot longer.

@TheTechBuyersGuru5 жыл бұрын
I love my Talion, but what do you think of the front suspension for bashing? Those short shocks at a sharp angle make the front pretty stiff. You of course know how to handle it, but it does seem a bit bouncy in your video. And OMG, landing that Typhon on that steel container. Ouch!
@richduperbash29665 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brother 👊!!!! I should've mentioned I'm running Tekno Orange truggy front springs at the moment 🤐. They aren't rated as firm as the stockers, but I needed more length to get a little more rebound and stay around arms level. Definitely a work in progress, cuz yes, I noticed the front was a bit bouncy too. 🍻😎💪👊👊

@@alwayswatching4677 the bigger spur will scrub a little speed but take some load off as well 👍. 50C is typically adequate for the demands. It's possible your ESC wants more voltage 🤔.
