Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon at the Track

The Arrma TLR Tuned Typhon get a new Hobbywing Max 8 combo and we test it at the track. We already know this buggy is a great basher but with some better tires, some tuning and practice we think it could also be a competive race buggy.

Man, I had the same problem with my grub screw. I'm unable to get it off, if I run it with the screw on it will it pop off or I just wont be able to move up in pinion gears?

Once I switched to MIP tools I never had anymore problems.. lesson learned no more cheap tools

I've been at the track with mine bro .. its only downside is weight .. my sworks s35-3e is so much lighter .. it drives like a boss still when I lowered it haha ..rip on bro

I've noticed mine is super heavy as well. I'm going to swap out a few parts and see if I can get the weight down.

Great Video! Nice build! I’m getting a TLR in a couple weeks. I’m going with the Castle 2200 KV and MMX ESC. I can’t wait, I’m really pumped. It’ll be my first buggy, and my first RC with aftermarket electronics. That track looks amazing! I wish we had something like that near me. I live in the middle of the Adirondack Mountains. Not much for tracks. A lot of great off road trails though.

@@Joercgarage Thanks bud! I will let you know. After seeing you hit 67mph on the 16 tooth, I’m questioning my decision to run the 20 tooth. I might just run an 18 tooth. 67 is crazy fast with a stock size pinion. I’d like to get close to 80mph, but not too much more. I’ll mostly be off-road with it, but I’ll do some occasional sprints on-road with proper on-road tires.

@@edctrader9061 if u run it mostly on 6s for off-road I wouln t go higher than 20 I hit 78 on my 2050kv with a 26t and grp the max 8 should get me 85 plus

@@Joercgarage That’s what I was thinking was the 20 tooth at the largest. Even then I wouldn’t just punch it off road. I may even set up two different programs. One limiting it a bit for off-road use, and the other for on-road. Thanks for the tip.

Can it keep up sure but if u want a more dedicated race buggy there are better options but if u want a fast tough versatile buggy that can do more the typhon is the way to go
