I recently came across this with my Limitless. I had 1 rear tire wobble like that. I swapped the rear tires & the wobble persisted on the same side. It turned out to be the hex tire hub. I swapped it to the other side & then the problem followed. So i replaced all 4 hex hubs. Took the time to also open up all the ceramic bearings & clean them up & re-lube them. All nice & smooth now.

That Blance tool definitely comes in handy I'm not surprised it was a bad wheel/tire making the car handle bad. Your video on putting the speed gear on my vendetta helped me out a Ton. I was Lost on getting that pinion on until I watched you video. You da man.

Hey Earl, I used to have the same problem with my MIP X-Duty axles, for my slash, and stampede. The problem was the hex nut only having one set screw per hex nut. When I put the hex nut on, after cleaning, and regreasing my axles, I would try and tighten the grub screw too much. I was new in the hobby at the time, and didn’t relealize it didn’t need to be that tight, but once the hex nut kit the axle, that last little turn/tighten, would slightly lock the hex nut on the axle, slightly skewed, and therefore the wheel would not be on straight. But those are just bashers , and I quit do it that. Take one wheel off, turn the other wheel, and keep a close eye on the hex nut spinning around. It’s worth a look. There was a slight gap between the back of my hex nut, and the outer wheel bearing, so I could easily see the gap getting bigger, and smaller, as the hex turned around.

Slashes on the hex don’t have the raised 5 star on it to bite into the wheel to help the hex from loosing the wheel nut and this is why it wobbles 👍👍

I melted the plastic spacer inside the spur gear on my second pack. I think my slipper loosened up and overheated. I put a new one and set it up to slip for the first two feet of full throttle launch, I used to race off-road. Yep that one is melted too. Next one going in is going to have the slipper nut real tight!

My body retainer clips broke in just a couple uses. Contact arrma and they will send tires next day. Super informative video as always, thank you for the content, its very helpfull to see the troubleshooting side of the hobby. Thank you Earl!!

I see this video and start to check my Losi 22s. Both front tires are wiggled, but I fix one by sanding and is straight. I see this video force my curiosity when I check. Well, that happened, the hex has some influence. I never expected this video to give me the answer I needed

I had a wheel warp one time from a new car just opened from where it was in a shipping truck with something up against the box and it pressed on the side or something and it had actually warped my rim

Wheels look very subject. Check hub to arms for open manufacturing tolerances. Arms to chassis too. Shims .010 / .005 in between tighten things up too taking out movement it helps overall. Hope you get it resolved.

I changed my vendetta wheels for brand new ones and now its straight. Same wheels just new. Mine was also pulling to one side. I have the dashboard ap working but have no clue how to set up the roll out settings and all the other throttle settings.

Yes as the left tire hopping causes a left pull like I was having 🤔🤔but I’ll run it to verify it before any other repair 👍👍

It’s like you need to go over these cars with a fine tooth comb, every detail, before you ever power them up. It’s a shame the rims are warped out of the box. I’d almost prefer it delivered without rims and tires if they aren’t gonna sufficiently QC them for warp and concentricity. By the way, I remember you saying it in an older video, but I can’t fine it now - what tire balancer is that one that you’re using? I need to pick up one of those.

I got 2 of the arrma vendettas got them just days ago on sale for $200 each mine do the same thing i took the wheels off and put them back on turned them so far so the were not on the Same place on the hex I got them to straighten out a lot the tires don't seem glued 100% straight it has to do with a lit I'm trying to get mine straight it has to do with pressure and moving them on the hex it has to to with all of that i had to mess with them to get them right

If the rims themselves are warped put them in hot water for a while. We used to do it to straighten 1/8 buggy wheels.

I'm waiting to get my vendetta I want to do it just how you did yours and put that 6s in there but I'm leery about the stock motor running it on 6s 3900 KV 🤔💥 so you said you kept the stock 3900 motor in there right and just replace the ESC with the 6s???

Yes motor is a motor it just spins it doesn’t care about the power that gets it to full RPM ! With that said a motors RPM ( gears) make a difference as a motor will tell you when to much is to much ? ( motor temps) you can’t do back to back runs if the motor heat up fast you need to do one and done checking tires & motor temps before another pass is attempted 💯👌

Check out the screws that are uneven axles under the wheel that contact pushing one part of the wheel outward. They have to match up with the upper and lower control arms and match perfectly or you notice the arms may be extended to far or inclined

Those open diffs can't be helping either at the power levels your running. m2c 3s 17mm adapters will work on these cars, maybe try some higher quality hubs with better tolerances?

Looking at the last pic of the second wheel it looks like it’s the rim, even tho the distance between the screwdriver is the same the out side tyre wall has a wobble or put the screwdriver on the outer side and see the distance

It’s the hex bud , I literally took some plastic over the hex then put wheel back on . The wheels are a tad big , or hex are tad small .. either way find something like a shim over hex, and problem fixed for me

I have a problem with mine that it won’t stay straight at any speed. Not just high speed. I trim it straight but as soon as I touch the steering, it’s back the other way.

Yes mine drifts as well it’s the ball end are plastic so we keep adjusting the trim all the end need upgrades to the metal ball end 👍

The holes above the tires are to let out turbulence created by the wheels as they spin. They also help let air flow pressure under the car not be as high as above thus sticking the car to the track. Google LMP cars and you’ll see the same holes above the wheels.

Travis is correct. The actual designer of the body commented on a video by Kevin Talbot and he explains the holes. Le Mans cars have them as well.

The hub bearings were probably istalled cockeyed at the factory. Plus it seems that they sold you a bad set of wheels

If it still goes all over the place disconnect the links from the bellcrank and turn the hubs left to right. Mine both were really stiff to turn. The screws On the C hub have to be a bit loose. If you crank them tight them too much they will bind the steering.

I commented on another Vandetta Video on this. Looks like your wheels are wearing like mine did. One session on 4s and rear tires on mine were toast, wore out all in the middle. Thanks again for the very informative video. I will look out for some other brand tires.

Yes most of the push is off the rear do to at hight speed the front end floats rotate tires every few runs 👍👍and remember only will get about 20 100 mph runs before they pop maybe less 👍👍

Great video as always earl 👌 glad you found an issue there. That's pretty poor for a new RC , not like it's a cheap one either. Had similar issues with a cheap banggood car I brought, one wheel was buckled, but it also kept bending the centre hub pins/ CV joint end of driveshaft making the wheels all wobble like that. Brought new and they bent same 1st few minutes testing em 🤦🏻 Hopefully yours will drive straight now 🤞

@@earlmoorhead5555 possible it got a little more grease out of the box. Lol. I've had the same problem like you did too. So I fixed the camber as best as i can, and then I added marine lube grease to the rear diff and 50k wt to the front diff and I can launch it right off the line full throttle super straight. Maxed speed of 106mph in just 132ft.
