@@EAprima It's not always about graphics...Ridge Racer games are way more fun to play. The feeling and sensation you get in Ridge Racer games is just so much more satisfying than the clunky feel of Daytona. I can't describe it....
@EAprima5 жыл бұрын
@@CJTranceAddiction Didn't say anything about graphics and I've never heard anyone refer to the handling of Daytona as "clunky", which is a new one for me. It's all good that you prefer Ridge Racer but even I know as a massive Ridge Racer fan that when it comes to gameplay, Daytona 1 and 2 cannot be touched for the amount of depth both titles hold is ridiculous. When it comes to music though, as much as I love Daytona's "heat and mega hype of the race" music I really adore Ridge Racer's awesome tracks. Also, going through Ridge City at high speed... Wow! It's truly is like going through Tokyo's Shutoku Highway at high speed and with some beautiful drifting. I love Ridge Racer so much, it's like "feel good" driving on a beautiful summer day. I still remember when I first playing Ridge Racer 2 in the arcades, it was a wonderful feeling speeding like crazy on Expert, drifting through every corner like a mad demon when you got the mechanics down. Heck, my happiness expanded further with Rage Racer, Rave Racer (even though the drifting became too silly) and R4 for I loved them so much I clocked up some crazy hours on all three titles (gosh, I spent a lot of money on Rave Racer). So yes, I love, I know, and thrill for Ridge Racer but no... Daytona really is king.
@CJTranceAddiction5 жыл бұрын
@@EAprima Nahh, after reading all of that there is no way someone would say all of that about Ridge Racer and still say Daytona is king. Sorry man, try again but you didn't convince me you're a Ridge Racer fan haha. Daytona's cars handle like shit compared to the fluidity and tight controls of Ridge Racer. And this is coming from someone who just recently gave Daytona a chance by buying the game on PS3 (the arcade perfect version) and felt like I just wasted my money. There's barely any courses and worse, the 3 courses that are there are just boring. The game just has no life and soul like Ridge Racer.... And you said it yourself....Ridge Racer truly does feel like "feel good" driving on a beautiful summer day. And you still take Daytona? Not a chance in hell. Plus, R4 and R5 BOTH top anything Sega has released as far as racing games go. R4 was the best damn looking and playing racing game on the PS1 and I still play it on my PS3 to this day. I don't care what you or anyone else says about Sega's AM2/3...doesn't take away the fact that both Virtua Fighter and Daytona were boring games in their respective genres. Tekken was always superior to Virtua Fighter just like Ridge Racer blew Daytona away. And Daytona was just god AWFUL on the Saturn....I remember in game mags how everyone thought Ridge Racer was the superior game on consoles.
goddamn. that female voice-over needs to be ported to Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. then re-release that game as an enhanced collectors' edition.

I never knew this arcade game ever existed at all, it's good to see how it looks from the gameplay and the bonus after winning a race. Gameplay: It's pretty much Ridge Racer but in an arcade cabinet from the '90's, need i say more? Attract mode: the letters flash so fast...my eyes just don't like that honestly... (i don't mind Reiko Nagase or that mysterious woman dancing in the BG) Male Voices: i'd say it's ok but it's below the other male voices from the original Ridge Racer or Ridge Racer Revolution from PSX Female Voices: Reiko Nagase (if it isn't Reiko Nagase then i dunno who it is then -_-) basiclly sounds really really weird, although it is my 1st time seeing this Ridge Racer spinoff, i'll just let those sfx slide for once (in my opinion it is...meh...Rage Racer easily beats this one's voice acting) Bonus: After you win in any of the 3 tracks, you can play a game on running as many cones as possible, umm okay, it is something i guess, it may be seen as a prize for winning a race. Unlockables: The only unlockable is Mirror mode, if you win on the Professional Course (Mountain), the credits show up, and after that it shows you the way how to unlock Mirrored tracks, nothing else Vehicle Select: It is possible to change the car in the service menu, normally it is the same one for every single race.
@arronmunroe5 жыл бұрын
Just one small correction: the car is actually the same for every race. You can change it in the service menu, which I did between races (not in the video), but if you were playing this game at a real arcade, you wouldn't be switching vehicles from one race to the next.
