This video is great because it represents its own little piece of history now. It's testament to the fact that three friends got together back in 2013 and had a ball playing Altered Beast on Mame together over the net.

That's because regular versions of MAME can't netplay. You'd need MAME32k or MAME++.

It's alienstorm all along ! ! ! grrrssshh ! ! ! >:-O thanks a million ! missed this childhood favorite ! ! ! aww..men im nostalgic now.... i've got one more left to search...also a beat'em up wherein they fight alien plant creatures, i think there's 4 characters in that game... played it just once in my entire life (& died immediately) so i couldn't remember the title (or any details) . . . oh man ! really, thank you! ! ! ;-D ALIEN STORM ! ! ! me am the robot w/green electric whip ! Any luck finding that one? It doesn't sound familiar based on what you said, but if it's a 4 player arcade beat em up, it's very likely I have played it before.

It's so fun watching no commentary gameplay walkthroughs but am curious is there games similar to alien storm? I really want to know if there is any games similar to this one and what type of game this game is a rail shooter or what kind? @everyone and arronmunroe

Can't think of too much offhand. This particular game is called a beat em up, even though it does have sections that are similar to a rail shooter. There are some other alien themed arcade games, such as Aliens, Alien VS Predator and Alien Syndrome. Only Alien VS Predator is a beat em up of those 3 listed.
