Valve designs a system to reward every day players with value. Their intention is obviously to reward those who actually play the game instead of deep pocket investors. Botters and bug abusers reduce that value. And somehow you don't see the harm in that? Just imagine, if you unboxed a blue gem only to find out they were getting botted to death making yours useless, you'd be pretty upset. It's real money and value lost to your average player. AKA your average viewer

Its legal to farm with 100 accounts manually to get weekly crates but once you start to automate it with botting then it becomes bad and bannable

Numerous people complained about this and logged tickets but nothing happens. Feedback received: send profile links which further investigations will be performed. 10:40 - Yesterday I was kicked out from a Arms Race game and right before I got kicked, I thought the lobby seemed weird because there wasn't many people shooting so the game was silent and no one was writing on chat before they kicked me. Usually they would write something nasty before kicking me out. I think they were on my T base waiting for other people to respawn, but the respawned people wouldn't shoot back, so that's why it was so silent. Honestly now it makes sense this lobby was just full of bots and they kicked me out because I was winning super fast and that would give them less XP.

Team on team deathmatch generated more XPs for armory then any other modes and was inacessible normally so therefore it was illegal way of farming stars.. Got slapped

Horrid take on the botting, in the long run the new cases will be the affordable collections and older will rise, this has been a thing since forever starting with the dlore. Getting into the game you can get the armory pass collection skins and the gallery case for very cheap, you don't need $4 gammas. Think of it like old battle passes in other titles. I've grinded over 1,000 stars legit in DM and have seen hundreds of bots while doing this, really demotivating to spend my time getting stars while knowing someone in China is just afk farming 100x what I can manually. From an economical standpoint this devalues the armory even more than it should be and therefore can cause some distrust in the market which is NEVER good long term. The botting situation needs to be stopped for a multitude of reasons.

Also had this thought a while ago. Sure, prices go down by stuff like botting and duping, etc. But this is more consumer friendly, as skin prices get cheaper. High skin prices for higher tier stuff basically just makes rich people who already own those richer. At the end people could just afford more skins again, but it would make them less rare of course.
