Arrow shed. Rain update

Just a quick update on my brand new 10 X 10 Arrow metal shed that I just put together. Last night was the first rain and I wanted to see how it held up against the water.

Some 30 years ago I put up a HomeCrest 10 x 12 shed on a concrete footing. Water began leaking through the roof panel joints. I removed the panels and then sealed the joints with 3M all weather silicone sealant then re-installed the roof panels. No more leaks, even in storm driven downpours. Have since moved to another location...last I knew, the shed was still there. I am now preparing to install an Arrow AR108A at my new location. I plan on sealing ALL joints (overlaps) and getting some water proof foam to fill in the open spaces in the panels at the top and bottom to keep out birds and insects. Thanks, i just put my shed together and after it rained i had a tiny bit of water just like you did but could not figure out where it was coming from. after your video i noticed that the seam like yours was the culprit. So a little caulking did the trick. Thanks for the tip.

Mine leaks … after a hard rain we have puddles of water to the left of the door and in front of the right side door. Trying to come up with some way to seal the doors when there shut.

Thank you for making this video and encouraging the jealousy of us poor guys who's metal sheds leak! I bought a Yardmaster 10x10 anf have 3 leaks, even though i siliconed the eff out of every roof screw. Subbed, and liked, even with my jealousy :)

I have only built one. Most people say there is a reason these sheds are so cheep. I double and triple checked and made sure everything was plumb and level when I built it. It’s not perfect, but pretty F’in close. The shed is still completely dry. I did not have high hopes, thought it would last a year or two before it started falling apart. I’m very impressed with mine. Turned me into a metal shed believer.

My 8x10 ezee has never leaked through roof (4 years old now). But the rails that the walls fit into like to leak. I filled most of the inside rail at bottom with caulking and floor just about dry. My 1980s spacemaker steel shed has never leaked a drop. They don't make em like that anymore though

Month 8 x 10 metal shed from Lowes leaks from the bottom. The design looks like a trough around the outside bottom (silver) seems to fill with rain water then over flows inside on the plywood base. Has anyone seen this? If so what product did you use to seal the base?

you left the plastic "U" protection on the gable? Did you caulk the bottom sill track? Thank you

I did not put caulk on the bottom sill track.

How easy was this to put together?

It was pretty easy. You will definitely need two people. The metal is very flimsy when it is not screwed together. Make sure your base it 100% level and plum all your corners. If you do that. Most of your screw holes will line right up. I have had the shed fir a few years now, no leaks and not a single bit of rust. Did you watch my other video on building the base? If not, check it out.

Would you say one of these would be suitable to seal, insulate and place walls to make one of these an outdoor office?

Yes. But be careful building it. It’s very flimsy until it’s together.

@@christopherfox8656 I don’t. But it’s pretty thin. I was really worried when I opened the box when I assembled it. But now that it’s together. It’s solid. I even had a big branch fall on it in the last snow. It dented the roof but still no leaks. It had exceeded my expectations

Yes. Sorry for the very late reply. But the shed is still strong and keeping everything dry inside. The raised floor has kept the plywood flooring dry as well.

It will eventually... Don't trust it to much..I have that exact one.. At first it was fine... Then you'll have leaks everywhere

AJoaquin305 no leaks since I added the silicone. Have hade lots of rain and snow since it has been up. Bone dry inside. Just make sure everything is square and level and the leaks should be minimal without silicone. I only had one small leak at the beginning. But silicon should be part of the instillation to be on the safe side.

What model Arrow shed is that? I've looked them over extensively and the only 10 x 10 I've found is the Commander and your's isn't one of those.

I ordered mine from Sears its a Arrow SR1010 10' x 10' Storage Shed. It was under $400.00. It does not come with a floor kit, you have to buy that separate.
