I love using Hot Tools Air Brush for my regular synthetic wigs. Just make sure it has a plastic barrel and let it cool on the wand to make a curl.

Yay!! I’m so excited for you!!! 😍 I hear you.. I used to struggle with the same problem from my HF until I found a way to make them feel like new again. If you have a HF wig that you need to bring back to life, I created this video for exactly this purpose: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmabZZ6hqdyebKc ❤️

Of course! ❤️ I would love to do that for you 😊 It will have to be after I move across the country and find my new place though!! (We leave next week!) but I’ll definitely put this video idea on my list to do 💕

she said its pretty thick and it is thick. i bought this one 5yrs ago but it didnt have the extra velcro at ear, or the strip in front like hair grew out of hesd. it was like wesring a hat. its not light weight. for me to wesr a wig, it gave to have the full top hand tied making it lighter weight. i had to take off after hr, it was hot.

Hi Steph! You have me very confused! In another video you said synthetic wigs went in the garbage after a few moths and heat friendly is the way to go? Now you are saying you have had this 2 years. Please which way is it as I was happy after I saw that video, planned to just get HF wigs and now I don’t know which way to go?. Help Steph to correct which is correct? Thanks a new fan…

Yes I’ve had this wig for many years but I don’t wear her every day like I wear my HF wigs. I prefer my HF over regular long synthetics because I find it’s easier to refresh them. This has just been my own experience with them

So is regular synthetic a good investment? Thank you Steph all the best in move!

@@jennifersouth7970 These are all great questions! I would love to respond with a black and white answer but I feel as though I would be doing you a disservice. I personally like HF more because I have the option to change the wig if and when I want to (and I usually want to- because I like to use my straightener and curler to make different looks and I trust my ability to do so), BUT if you’re someone who doesn’t want to change a style, you just want it as is, yes, I do still think a regular synthetic is a good wig to invest into. It really depends on you though and what you like. I think regular synthetics are slightly more shiny than HF, but you can use a dry shampoo to take away some shine (if you find it to be too much)- also washing your wig will also bring down the shine. There’s pros and cons to both, and it comes down to preference of the individual. 😊💕 My very first wig was a regular synthetic by Jon Renau and I loved her for a long time. And then I got a HF wig and I had her for even longer and loved my ability to change her with heat. That is where my preference comes in. BUT I still do purchase regular synthetics :) :) I especially love the regular synthetics to be in Bob styles, and my HF to be in longer styles

She looks so so pretty on you! Did you style her or did she come out of the box like that? I just got her and her wave pattern is horrible! She’s swooping into my face like static cling haha and very flat on top,I can’t get any volume.. the waves by my ears heading to the back are denting in if you know what I mean, it just doesn’t look pretty or look like yours at all…..Do you have any advice on how to fix these issues? I want to love her but being brand new to wigs I have no clue how to reverse the volume because she is poofy on the bottom, more than I’d like actually…. Thanks for reading and another Thank you in advance for any tips you can give me…And last but most definitely not least, Congratulations on your pregnancy, I’m so excited for you! xox

@@WigsWithSteph You are so sweet, thankyou for getting back to me so quick! I don’t have instagram, not yet anyway..Would Facebook or email be easier for you? My adult kids are always yelling at me about being so behind with the social media. To be honest, I haven’t put myself on social media because of my hair, it’s awful..I am brutal, every vacation, event or holiday where tons of pictures are taken I beg almost threaten them haha not to put any pictures with me in there on social media…I’ve been wearing a halocoture human hair topper for the past few years but in the past few months I’ve lost a ton more which is why I’m turning to wigs, it’s time…Let me know what’s easiest for you. I can’t tell you how much it means to me that you got back to me!!!!!!!!!! 🥰

@@michellebarr1162 Hi Michelle!!! It is my pleasure!!! This is literally why I created my channel... to help people. It brings me a lot of happiness. No problem at all, we can just message here =) Let me address your questions first: 1. Did you style her or did she come out of the box like that? I have not styled her, because she is not heat friendly and I didn't want to her waves to disappear. (I find non heat friendly wigs slightly more challenging to style because I can really only use steam- barely any heat- and that restricts me in terms of styling and waves/curls, etc...) So, because she is not heat friendly, I have not touched her in that way as far as styling goes. BUT I have combed through her, fluffed her up, flipped her over, shaken her out, and flipped the part a couple of times. As you might have noticed in this video, she has a smaller parting space than, let's say, a FULL monofilament top, where the world is your oyster in terms of where you can part. So, when I flipped the part around, it wasn't to keep the part on the side where the monofilament doesn't exist, it was only to get some body back into her. I find that the more I move her around, and manipulate her with my own hands, the more natural she becomes. (Same with any other wig). This is one of my tricks, to literally put a new wig on my head and treat her as if she is my own. Move her, comb her, flip her. She will find her place on your head and by doing this, you'll get used to her and find where you like her sitting the best =)

@@michellebarr1162 The other thing is- you mentioned, "She’s swooping into my face like static cling and very flat on top, I can’t get any volume.." My advice for this is what I described in my previous message, but I'd also like to add that when wigs are initially taken out of the box, it is normal for them to be .... well... not totally naturally looking on a head, YET. But in my experience, this just gets better with time. After you've manipulated her with your hands first, AFTER you've played with her, flipped her around, combed through her. You can even rub your hands together to create some heat, and them run your hands over the spots on the wig that are too voluminous. I can say that everything you're describing is what I experienced as well, and it's only because I treated her as though she was mine (flipping her, all those things) that she now sits the way I want her to. I've purchased so many wigs at this point that I've grown accustomed to just expecting that every time I get a new wig and plop her on my head, there will be something I don't love about it. And then I'll treat her as my own, manipulate her, and then she's perfect. I hope this is making sense LOL.

@@michellebarr1162 I remember when I purchased my very first wig, took her out of the box, put her on my head (this was Simmer wig by Raquel Welch) and I thought she looked so weird. She was overly poofy, felt like a helmet, and I couldn't figure out how to act naturally while wearing her. Like when hair flew into my face for the first time, which way should I take my hand to push her fibers back? I remember doing this outside when I didn't have a mirror and not remembering where the part was, and I felt like I made it look worse. (it was all in my head... nobody noticed)... it just came down to, I was NEW to wearing this wig and wasn't used to her yet. Now, when I get a wig, I stand in front of the mirror for a couple mins before wearing ANY wig outside, and I'll flip her around and "practice". It puts your mind at ease, seeing yourself doing this and realizing that your wig really doesn't look bad... its just a matter of getting used to it. And if there is a spot on your wig that you don't like, then attempt to change it with your hands, with clips, with sunglasses. I can say that also over time, with just natural wear, she will begin to lay flatter in all the right places. And then to get volume at the top, I just push up on a side with the heat from my hands =)

Oh, no. I’ve had both Heat & Regular. Heat friendly is a mangled mess after first full day and like you dipped in Molasses after 3 days.

I just got this wig, but I am very disappointed....it does not look at all like yours here 😢 I feel its way too much hair and looks unrealistic. It also doesnt help that I went for the wrong color. I got a warm tone and it looks so bad 😆
