After I turned gray, I only wore gray wigs. After my leukemia diagnosis, I realized that life is short and I have been enjoying wearing red and chunky strawberry blond wigs. It's been fun!! To my surprise, other people either don't care or they think I look great! For newbies, may I say that wigs are nothing more than makeup for our heads.

They are SO addictive. I'm in Australia and for some reason there is also a bit of a stigma about wearing wigs if you have bio hair. But... I stick my nose in the air and carry on feeling fabulous. But yeah... not so much in summer as they are hot. And I rarely get through a whole day with a wig on. I feel a bit constricted. I wear them out to dinner or to the shops, and very occasionally I wear them to work. During the pandemic I wore a wig when on zoom meetings 😊

Love this!!!! Isn't it interesting that there is that stigma around wearing wigs if you have bio hair?!!! I hope with more wig exposure that will change, because wigs are also FOR FUN! ☺ And I think wigs are awesome for anyone and everyone!!!!

Wigs are addictive. Thanks for mentioning this. Now I know I'm not the only one addicted to buying wigs! I love what you said about the "sore" going away. As I got older, I got more invisible, my scalp began to show through my hair. Then I found wigs. Now, I have so many, and I learned on youtube how to wear make up for someone in their 60's. I shaved my head! I had hair falling out all over my house so I just did. I am sooooo much happier with my appearance now, and people notice me and say nice things! Even if I say its a wig, they don't care, or they are surprised.

Ida I was the same as you when I first wore wigs due to having alopecia I was embarrassed and self conscious, but 10 years down the line I love going out with my wigs and every single wig that I wear at least one stranger compliments me on my hair ! I don’t tell them that it’s a wig not because I’m ashamed but because I’m pleased that they look so natural. I’ve only started telling my neighbours that I wear wigs as they kept complimenting me on my various hair styles and I felt that I had to come clean with them 😂😂

@@roseannoa5021 heheheh what an amazing story!!! I love that you're so confident walking around with various styles now!! I too got to the same point with some of my close friends and neighbours LOL. I had to tell them I wear wigs because they were complimenting me all the time and my hair kept changing. It's like they needed MORE., "where do you get your hair styled, Stephanie?! Can I come with you the next time?! Your hair is always so beautiful!" LOL.... That's when I finally decided, Okaaay, I have to come clean HAH

I LOVE wigs! I NEVER have a bad hair day, and always look like I've just had man expensive salon coloring, AND they are less expensive that salon visits. I will never go back to just my bio hair. Wigs are addictive and the most fun I've ever had doing something that's not illegal 🙂 fun.

I lost some hair due to quick weight loss. It’s back now but I got a few wigs to wear. They are addictive. I now have 10 even tho I don’t need them. I love being able to have different looks without even trying. A couple are short but most mid-length. I only wear them when I’m meeting friends or going out to eat. I don’t get hot (live in Florida) because I’m just going from car to restaurant/store.

I have been so depressed for months because of hair loss. I've had a lot of thinning for years but recently it has gotten way worse, it gives me so much anxiety, i literally don't want to go anywhere unless absolutely necessary. I never feel beautiful anymore, its so much harder than I could've ever imagined. Thank you so much for sharing, you always hear so many women struggle with it but hardly anyone talks about it. Thanks for your video I find that fully hand tied wigs are too hot , but monofilament and wefted wigs are fine but then again I live in Scotland and it doesn’t get too hot 😂 in fact when 8 take my wig off at night I have to put on a beanie hat as my head is cold. I don’t wear anything under my wig and don’t have any problems . Thanks again 🙏🙏

Hi Roseann!!! I 100% agree with you!!! =) I love the hand-tied though because when I sweat, the wefts get itchy on me.. but you're absolutely right that the wefts allow more passage of air flow. For me in 101-107* every day this summer, Jon Renau’s Kristen has worked GREAT! It’s got a mini lace front & is open wefted & does have permatease but is VERY low. I use water to “train” the hairstyle & pull up the little layered bangs up just in the front & pull a few more down & literally no one ever knows I’m ever wearing a wig…honestly, I even forget too. I wear it in Laguna Blonde & it’s gorgeous. I’ve got over 100+ wigs in every designer, length, style from long Remy HH to HF mid-length, etc. I swim w/my Kristen on & do everything. I always keep a clean backup with me when I travel. Thanks for the video!! 😊

Thank you for this video!! This, by far, has been the most helpful to a woman who is just discovering the alternative/helper hair world. I've suffered from Hashimoto's Thyroiditis for a long time. The thinning hair has been challenging, but lately, the thinning has turned into bald patches. I discovered toppers but feel their has been more damage created in the few weeks I've worn them. I really appreciate all your videos and information contained in them! ❤

I started my wig journey a year and a half ago and I feel they gave me my confidence back! I feel great wearing them. I have spent a decade suffering about my thin hair (I have polycistic ovaries) and always keeping my bio hair braided or with a ponytail until I felt ugly and decided to give it a try...wigs changed my life ❤ The only thing is...I still somehow feel like people are going to notice it, 'cause there is a bit of a stigma about wearing wigs here (wigs= cancer) and I'm also worried about getting back into the dating game 😅 I'm not bald but I'm scared of being rejected because of wig-wearing (I might have to shave at some point, if the problem gets worse). Anyone willing to share some tips about it? How did you feel about dating new people and wearing wigs? Did you tell them at the beginning or after some time? How did they react? I'm scared 😅😅

This was a great video. O don't have hair loss but I absolutely love changing up my color and style so wigs are amazing. Also my hair is so fine it doesn't like to stay styled. Personally I don't see wearing a wig as being any different than having my nails done at a salon or putting on lashes or getting extensions. Is it fake? Sure but I don't care. So is perfume and makeup. As long as I look and feel good that is all that matters to me.

That wig would look so much more natural if it was chin length, or shoulder length. A stylist could cut it into a different length, it would majorly improve its appearance.
@macpduff2119

I respectfully disagree. The wig Steph is wearing looks totally natural. I have found that my biggest hurdle has been forcing myself to expand my wig hairstyles. At my age, I tend to only wear safe chin length, but now I am awaiting delivery on the Feathered Bob 23R Tressallure wig. I have been diagnosed with leukemia and now I am much more adventurous with the life I have left 🙂

@@macpduff2119 - First, I am so sorry to hear about your health struggles, and I wish you be granted a refuah shleimah. Regarding your opinion on the wig, it’s fine if you’re into ‘wiggy’ wigs, but that wig does *_NOT_* look remotely natural on her as it is. The wig is in desperate need of customization to ‘sell’ it as being hair. If you truly believe that wig looks natural, it leads me to believe you wear ‘wiggy’ wigs. That’s fine if that is your thing, but most women prefer their wigs look completely natural. If you enjoy the ‘wiggy’ look, that’s cool… you do you. The rest of us prefer natural looking wigs, and that is why I strongly recommend she take that wig to be styled so it looks good on her. Right now? It screams _’I’m wearing a wig’_ to anyone who sees her in it. Take care.

@WigsWithSteph
@WigsWithSteph 9 ай бұрын
Of course! ❤️ It depends on the style too :) - Ellen Wille produces smaller wig caps. Pretty much every wig of this brand fits smaller. (Fits me really well) - Jon Renau has amazing feeling synthetic fiber and has wigs labelled “Petite” in size. Look for the Petite label. His average cap sizes when it doesn’t say Petite is big on me, but I will still wear it with a wig grip underneath. What is your circumference? Mine is 21”. If you’re like me, you can still get away with wearing most caps if you wear a wig grip too :) -Raquel Welch has amazing lace fronts but her wigs run bigger on me too. For both Jon Renau and Raquel Welch, if you want a tighter fit, look for “hand-tied”. It’s a little more money because the cap is more luxurious than the wefted, but with the hand-tied you get a tighter fit. Alternatively, you could still get their wigs and wear a wig grip underneath which will help with making it feel more secure :) Here is Jon Renau wigs: bit.ly/3GVDC5W Here is Ellen Wille wigs: bit.ly/41EaFVt Here is Raquel Welch wigs: bit.ly/477mQLz I hope this is helpful ❤️ if you have any more questions about specific styles, I’m happy to help :) My email is wigswithsteph@gmail.com Or Instagram is @wigswithsteph
