Hi, I have a strange question....So paralegals are hired by lawyers correct? I am having a situation where a paralegal is bypassing and selling "paralegal services" to bottom of funnel clientel such as plaintiffs and defendants. Essentially these "paralegals" are charging people "legal advice" and not even having any connection with actual lawyers whatsoever. I always thought paralegals cannot gander paid services from the plaintiff/defendant level. The civil level hires the lawyer, then the lawyer hires the paralegal, not the other way around like this shady company is doing.
