I've seen a lonely pink syngonium at a grocery store near me...sitting on the floor, looking sad...today's my day off, so I decided to go get this little thing...brought it home, got all the dust off, gave it some pruning...when I went to look at the roots, I discovered that it had about a pint of excess water in the pot...changed the pot and gave it a neem oil treatment...guess we'll see how it goes
@kellyberg8304 жыл бұрын
Good luck on your plant rehab! I just purchased a small syngonium pink allusion today. I was about to pot it into a clay pot, but I might not after seeing this video. I am a bit conflicted because I have a syngonium podopyllum albo variegata that seems to be doing well in a clay pot. Anyway, I'll wait on repotting the pink allusion for later. Again, I hope your new syngonium bounces back!

How did it go?

I wouldn't reccomend growing in regular rocks, syngonium plants tend to go yellow ing.plant needs nutrients in soil to stay healthy,if you exsperiment you will find out,that it wasn't a good idea!

Are yellowing/dying bottom leaves normal on these guys? I’ve heard they are but also just nervous and wanna make sure mine isn’t in the beginning phases of dying
@aubreywipfli18402 жыл бұрын
Mine seems to be overall pretty healthy, I’ve had her for a few months and she’s still totally pink - no browning, yellowing, or greening leaves! The nursery I bought her at repotted her for me. But she hardly ever needs water!! Only about twice a month. And there are some TINY black spots on some of the leaves. Also new leaves don’t ever unfurl, although there is a lot of new growth I always end up having to unroll them myself and then they seem fine. What’s going on? She gets lots of bright indirect light and decent humidity (I have one humidifier near her)

Thanks for having this video. I adopted from friend of a friend a foreign syngonium to me. It got too much sun he said in his yard last summer. It looks copper pink with beet red stems. One leaf a baby was beet red. Greenish brown and some are pinky reddish brown. But the kicker is the stems are beet just like pink princess philodendron stems. Bronzy pink. Yet a broke baby leaf was super red like the stem. I can't figure out which it is. THEN BOOOOOOooom I found your link and it looks like the leaves of the pot on the left in your video but with the stems of the smaller one on the right. What is the name of the one in the large pot? The previous owner told me the leaves are suppose to be reddish brown but it got too much sun. So what would you say the proper name colour of this syngonium plant would be if it has beet red stems?

I've used the cellulose before and it is useful with some plants and problematic with others. I think a lot depends on the soil, climate and habits of the person caring for the plant. I like to water often so the gel just keeps things too wet for me. But for those who don't like to or are not able to water as often I'd imagine it would be useful. 😊

Nice effect on the callouts for the moisture stick. Do you know if the white butterfly requires more light because of the lack of green of on the leaves? Or is it more sensitive to light because of the white? I find this is one of the easier houseplants to take care of.
@TropicalPlantParty5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for noticing the mogrts! I haven't noticed the white butterfly to need more light but I have noticed it to scorch fairly easily if it gets direct sun. ... but most of mine will scorch in direct light. 😕🤷♂️ if you wanted to try giving it more light can always add a couple tablespoons of Epsom salt to a gallon of water and use that on the plant a week or so beforehand to help protect it from scorching. ... just sort of thinking "out loud" there.
