Putting my BF together now. What will I notice when I change the prop to the APC you mentioned- more top speed, thrust or longer run times?

The better APC prop will give a bit more power, and extra flight times

One of the best planes I owned , though prone to overheating even on 3S, let alone 4S, even when propped down quit a bit. It is quite capable on 3S, but there is almost no safety margin to allow one to get out of the trouble by punching the throttle. It is absolutely marvelous on 4S.

@@SteffenRC You'd have to drop down to a 10x5E or perhaps a 10x6E on 4S. I didn't see anything wrong with the 11x7E on 3S..

@@txkflier I think the plane just does not have an adequate air flow through fuselage. Some folks at rcgroups went as far as punching their own holes to address the issue. For me, it is not too bad, but I do feel the need to let the plane sit on the ground to cool down between flights as a precaution. 11x6 wood prop is the one I did settle on eventually. I used a bigger 50A ESC too.

For sure. I think the stock setup would be pushing it.. I'm pretty happy with the APC 11x7 on 3S..

Yep, I added 2 little holes near the front light since there is ZERO air flow to the ESC. I haven't tested the temp after a flight, but that could be interesting to see...

Maybe you could bring this Friday August 9th to the field? This one also looks amazing per your video - May be a good backup to have on hand for when I pile drive my FMS Ranger into the ground.

I came to check out this video from your suggestion after watching the 1500 Cessna video. Very well done video and flights. You're quickly becoming my favorite RC channel, along with Adam at ModelAV8R. I like the chapter segments. How do you decide on choosing another prop? Maybe make a short 5 minute video on this. I am assuming without taking a moment to check that stock is 10x6? Lately I have been flying my Kingfisher which is very similar to the Bigfoot but without lights, slightly larger at 1400mm. I added the EZ lights to mine. It comes with floats and skies and an FPV canopy. My 1st STOL plane for flying at one of my clubs grass field. I will keep an eye out for the Bigfoot as I do prefer the looks of it to the KF. I also like Arrows planes and have the Tecnam 2010. It's just a little too large to fit in my small car. I also like to fly like you do. Slow and varied pattern and some minor acrobatic.

One more thing. I noticed in the build video you mentioned using a Lemon 7 channel RX. I too have been using 6 and 7 channel Lemon RX's. On your specs page with your throws and expo it says AR621? Any reason for the switch?

I really appreciate your kind words. Adam is a great guy and mentor for me.. (hence, I copy his channel a little...). I used my Watt Meter to determine the APC 11x7 will produce a few more Watts to give this plane the little power upgrade it needed (for me...). I made a quick video using the Watt Meter a week or so ago. Thanks again, Will

@@DuneDaddyO Dang.. You caught a goof up on my spec.. I used the Lemon 7 channel.. (I reused that spec sheet from another plane and didn't change the rx....). Thanks for letting me know..

@@SteffenRC Oh OK. That makes sense. Like I said I have them and so far I am very pleased with them. I can still use either the Vector or Reflex system with no issue. No reason I can see to spend $80-$100+ on a Spektrum RX when these do just the same for like $17-$25 each. No brainer. More $ for planes! Same with batteries. Smart technology is great but the batteries from Turnigy work great for me. Regular and Nano Tech. Happy Landings!

Love my arrows bigfoot plane does all kinds of crazy quick aerobatics and recovers from spins and tumbles very fast great all around high wing tail dragger fun for all pilots period. oh and i run a 12x8 propeller on mine but bumped up the esc to 50amp to run 4s in it. totally transformed the plane and was well worth the upgrade

@@SteffenRC The motor can handle it just fine and i can fly with unlimited climb now and snap rolls and knife edge spins are amazing and fun with it when you have the extra thrust

So, I've been flying it with the 4S and its much faster and more power.. But I think there is something wrong with me.. I kinda like just cruising around on 3S..😂
