Your setup videos and how you talk through what the plane is doing, the changes you make and discuss how the plane reacts, and your complete flow from beginning to end, is the absolute best on KZbin! I just bought this plane through your website 😎, and now thanks to you showing you final setups , I have a much better starting place to try until I get it dialed in with the AS3X and flaps. Man keep the videos coming!

One of the reasons why I like your videos is because all the extra details and discussion really helps when it comes to comparing similar models from different companies. Case in point, I'm currently debating with myself over getting the Arrows verus the EFlite, and although the Arrows does look like a good plane, the EFlite is probably going to be preferable for me.

@@BrianPhillipsRC I remember either eachine or xk made a small version of this plane ✈️. Also on a different note I found some really cool vtol planes on aliexpress. I just don’t trust the website. They are like the vtol from xk you reviewed in the past except they have the f18 like in top gun Maverick and many others that takeoff 🛫 in vtol. Good work! I remain a huge fan of all my Arrows models. My experience with my Arrows Bearcat was exactly the same though. It was a bigger battery or nose weight scenario. I also mix some right rudder with the throttle. For a comfortable maiden flight - I would like to see Arrows recommending a C of G further forward. For those of us who don't use gyro stabilisation we really don't want to stack a new model on Flight #1! That Corsair looked fabulous on the 3200 4S.
@BrianPhillipsRC2 жыл бұрын
If you mix in rudder, you'll want that to be tied to a switch, so you can turn it off when you're in the air....it's like 100% rudder, or near to it, FYI

And speaking of Carrier based. First Carrier launch was off a British Carrier. During WWII modern fleet Carriers were Essex Class. Now imagine they were able to launch off the Independence Class Carriers (CVL's) that were nine Cleveland Class Light Cruisers that were converted with a 650 ft straight wooden deck. The challenge with operating the Corsair was the large 4 bladed prop and the orientation of the pilot that affected the pilots visibility. Check it out.

I had to add 3 oz of weight to the nose on the Arrows. I think the CG is marked wrong. I had the same problem on the Eflite 1.2 Corair I could not get the CG right with 2200 in it without adding 2oz of weight to the nose. Flys great on a 3200 or 4000 in it.

talking of batteries, I asked you about putting in a bigger battery on the Prodigy 1400mm RTF. Well, I got mine and did put in a 30c 2200 battery and it flies much better. The CG is way back with the 1300 25c it comes with but the 2200 puts it in the middle of the CG range. So, yeah just because it recommends or comes with a particular battery, you may find a better one.

I just found your channel today. I was looking to get into scratch building planes again. Ive been out of it for about 20 years...lol. The problem Im finding is, very few ppl scratch build anymore. That's all i used to do to fly is scratch build my planes. Also, everything is electric now. No more messing with gas engines, nitro fuel, starters and starter batteries and all assorted other items. I used to have to bring a build box with me to the field to fly. Technology has come a long way. That being said, what would you recommend for someone getting back into flying again. Plane and radio wise. I used to run on an Futaba Gold 5ch radio, but they have come so far, i am prob going to be lost... Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you and keep up the flying.

For the moment, here's some "beginner planes", but for you, if you KNOW you're getting back into the hobby, and don't want to "waste" money on a beginner plane - you could just get some good gear and get right into it...if that's the case, hit me up... Good job zeroing in on the CG issue and calling on Arrows to get their act together so to speak. This issue exists on the Bearcat and Trojan and requires a bigger battery AND lead up front. If nose weight is not added one way or another, a grass take off will end in a stall. This is not a good outcome for someone who tends to trust what is published in the manuals and on the box. After all this time not making a change to the design or information provided justifies full refund to anyone who dumps their plane because they did trust the manual. And the info isn't off just a tad or a tweak, it's off by A LOT. Can't tell you how many musket balls I glued into the nose of the Bearcat but I think it was around 12 along with using a 3S 3200 battery.

The one in the plane...just do it. It'll be fine. We've been doing this for years on Arrows "3S" planes, but if you're really concerned, maybe 40 amps....but to be honest, I don't think you'll have any issues. www.dpbolvw.net/click-9240406-15735260?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.horizonhobby.com%2Fsearch%3Fq%3D40%2Bamp%2Besc%26lang%3Ddefault I'd go for the smallest one you can get, if you want to make it work, but there is a component of risk on the MOTOR itself, but that too is just a few bucks to replace if it catches on fire and blows into a million pieces. With this and other Arrows planes, they almost always work fine on 4S.
