Long before the first bicycle ever rolled this trail and the public became anti motorcycle we rode up and down this jewel for years. Truly an exceptional experience. We accessed it from Hiway 154, Barger Canyon and North Ridge cutting through Rancho Vista Del Mundo when the old gal still lived in the Adobe ranch house. She was the sweetest! When taking the road toward 154 we would stop at the Cascade on the West fork of San Antonio Creek and slide down the rock face or sit in the pool above it. I often think of riding down from the saddle on East Camino Cielo to the old road bed and back up for old times sake. One day.

@Mobilexdbx
@Mobilexdbx 3 жыл бұрын
@@Kenevoslcomp777 I've since left California, so I cant update on current standing. I see a lot of Strava traffic on Romero and San Ysidiro. Cameusa is a masterpiece. Best ask a local at this point.
@rezenclowd3
@rezenclowd3 2 жыл бұрын
@@Kenevoslcomp777 Romero is an easy climb, can shoot off 4mi or go 6mi to the top. Arroyo burro backside is about the same but can be shuttled. For shuttling my group typically does San Ysidro, Cold Springs, Tunnel, Knapps 2-3 times then Arroyo burro backside. Tequipes is great fun, quite a steep climb though out by the lake. For loops you ~10-15mi long, Camuesa, 19 Oaks, Santa Cruz. There isn't too much more that's fun IMO. Thousand Oaks IMO is where it's at for good in-n-outs.

Sweet vid and trail. I don't usually comment like this but it would be cool if the dude in red didn't "drift" every corner with his rear brake.
@Nickporter17
@Nickporter17 2 жыл бұрын
@@boblatkey7160 because you can break traction and drift by leaning the bike over and pushing hard with your heels. Doing it that way keeps the rear wheels spinning and does less damage to the trail than just skidding around a corner.
@Nickporter17
@Nickporter17 2 жыл бұрын
@@boblatkey7160 skidding definitely does do damage. It creates breaking bumps and ruts, which are the worst kinds of corner conditions. Your can get out there and have fun without making it less fun for others. Doing a little trail maintenance here and there doesn't negate your responsibility to ride in a considerate manner.

Rad video, the speed in which you attack the trail is legit. Where do you focus your eyes at? Front tire, 5ft ahead, etc.
@tanenbomb-gaming
@tanenbomb-gaming 4 жыл бұрын
Not the rider in question but for your own safety never look at the front tire, always just look forward especially if you're going fast, its the only way you have time to react to obstacles.

Just a heads up regarding this trail. Frontside is great for the first 2 miles (blue rating) and then there is a MAJOR 1/4 to 1/3 mile hike a bike and climb that is an ass-kicker. It totally ruins the entire experience. After the brutal hike a bike...the trail becomes a double black...that ends before you know it. Then you are on a dirt road. ZZZZZ. Riding the last 2 miles on a freakin' dirt road...and then onto a paved road road. Overall, this is not a DH ride..it is 35% climbing and 65% downhill, but a lot of that downhill is dirt road and paved road. If you really want a great DH ride, I recommend Arroyo Burro BACKSIDE, instead.
