Yet again, fucked over by the refs. Another week as an Arsenal fan. It's no surprise. Performance was lacking however.
@Travissaur5 күн бұрын
Again, the ref gave Brighton an absolute ridiculous call that favored them heavily. Both very dubious calls that you would not see anywhere else but the PL.
@Bg543214 күн бұрын
What makes it worse, Joao Pedro should have been sent off in their last game so shouldn’t even have been on the pitch anyway. Anthony Taylor wants to be the star yet again, nothing to see here.

Good on James to call out the lack of strategic thinking by Arteta/ the club with respect to the forward line. 2 seasons ago, Saka, Oodegard, and Martinelli had brilliant years in terms of goal output. It was easy to forsee that the likely thing going into last season was a drop off from 1 or 2 of them. Last season, we made that up by repurposing Havertz and finding Trossard. But again, there would be a drop off somewhere. Form, fitness, something... But the club seems to think everyone will continue to produce at a high level and thus do nothing to spread their risk and improve the options when the inevitable drop off happens.

We are so bad at time wasting we need to just stop doing it. There's no subtlety to how we do it and it's annoying even as an Arsenal fan watching. I don't blame the refs for getting annoyed frankly. It's so blatant. We know it's a hot topic so we neee to wise up

In the pod James describes saka as our most exciting player. I disagree with his description; I don’t believe he is our most exciting player, but our most clinical. And with a manager who relies on small margins, without a saka to convert our limited chances, we lack goals and therefore goal threat. It’s like a mourinho Chelsea without drogba up top.

I am sorry but i will play a half fit ODG at this moment in time because no one in that team has what it takes to play in those pockets for us. Every time he is not on the pitch, we struggle so much to be fluent and cohesive in the second & final 3rd.
@virupakshawalla57345 күн бұрын
Top 4 top 8 CL and its not disaster of season and we buy and go again. But next season Arteta last chance to show his mentality is up to it and he can impose belief as well as coach tactics

Got exactly what we deserved in that match against a toothless Brighton side. The referee got the calls right and Nwaneri absolutely deserved the booking. It's time wasting and it's appalling to watch and we ought to be better than needing to bore the world into submission. The overly cautious tactics is killing us as demonstrated by dropping points in 7 games. The underlying data suggests we are overachieving currently which is pretty alarming considering the optics. I love this team but with the title all but gone, it would be nice to release the handbrake again.

Why they don't just stop the clock and add the 35 minutes that were lost every game?!
@housinauthority52585 күн бұрын
Lest we forget: The reason we are short of options up front is because we sold players and didn't replace them. This is soley on Arteta, it was his decision not to replace them. Tbh I find his squad management to be his weakest attribute.
@zTom_4 күн бұрын
We can't buy all the players we need without sales? PSR is a big factor here
@martinharvey23904 күн бұрын
You mean Nketiah, Smith Rowe, Vieira and Nelson who barely ever got a game. We got a good fee for Nketiah (and Smith Rowe) and he's done nothing at Palace. Clearly some of the few minutes these 4 played were earmarked for Nwaneri. Those 4 went out, we brought in Merino, to replace ESR and Vieira, Sterling to replace Nelson and Nwaneri has been promoted to the senior squad.
@martinharvey23904 күн бұрын
@zTom_ spot on. We never received fees for Ramsdale and Nketiah until deadline day and it was too late to use the funds then.

Need to practice long throw-ins and use the opposition players who are hustling our players close in to throw the ball over them to one or more of our players lurking further back. Cant think of the players name who had that ability to use a throw in like it was a free kick and caused us amongst other teams loads of problems..stoke maybe, Rory Delap rings a bell lol

The time-wasting is getting blatant and it antithetical to the kind of football Arsenal are famous for playing. We're Arsenal! We should be looking to put teams to the sword! Not trying to find ways to waste a few seconds here and there. I would go so far to say that it is actually part of the reason we seem to lack a sense of urgency.
@Jorgihno4 күн бұрын
is anything going to happen about the standard of refereeing in the UK? It is either inept or very suspicious that these decisions are not being reviewed and action taken to moderate the quality of decisions given the significance of impact in terms of financials and fan motivation. Most importantly its taking away from the focus on football which is horrible. We need a third party to review and start taking actions to ensure these "things i've never seen before" dont keep happening. Its destroying our season !

Arsenal deserve the yellow cards for slowing the game down. Even against Everton, each throw seemed to take forever, allowing Everton to set up the defence. The team is playing boring football and that is down to the manager. HE sold creative players and bought physical players ("dual monsters") like Calafiori, Havertz, and Merino. That is his decision based on the physical style of football HE wants to play. It is boring and unattractive to watch.
@virupakshawalla57345 күн бұрын
Part of delay is psychological tactic. But its anti spirit of game and painful to watch. Penalties we take much longer than most tobas you say centre themselves. Do the rest and you can do the centring. We are running all over the pitch whispering. We look as though we are intentiondoing it to refs opposition fans ... and me.

The ball makes contact with Saliba. Seen fouls missed ball but hits fouler after. Saliba didn't need to make it. Refs are shit Taylor is a tosser but its a penalty. We were crap after we scored. We git what we deserved, The touch on ball needs to be before foul. Stop moaning we were crap. Taylor is horrendous VAR maybe didn't look but I have slow motion skiwed 10 x more. Its a pen. But yes we don't get it. If Nwaneri injured (he was poor first half and booked) who do you bring on? Odegaard maybe had ti come on and hope he made a pass
@alexcoyg32815 күн бұрын
If Saliba falls the same way that Pedro fell, i think they don't give it, Saliba touches the ball, he has a right to fight for the ball and he touches it, so if he falls and holds his head-its a clash of heads and its not a penalty, Taylor can't wait to give a pen, so he does. Everyone just being spaghetti legs before the penalty does not help either...
@virupakshawalla57345 күн бұрын
@alexcoyg3281 we were sort of over excited.. Gabriel rushes in in middle of park to start the cascade. But its a head to the temple I think. That is nasty. It wasn't a normal clash of heads. Ball came uo like a fountain not from cross. Shame Saliba didn't collapse as not given I like it but I can't complain its given. Taylor being a biased wank is another story. Rice sendioff is worst one this seaas ball kicked into him from a moving ball. Then he intentionally scythes Rice. But original foul unnecessary and turning back to it silly too. We have contributed to our own demise.

I dont get how a super fit and healthy footballer can be labled as "sick" for two weeks or more i know we all can get ill with colds and flu etc but when im "sick" i either get a day off or have a lemsip and get on with it haverts odegaard and martinelli heve all been out for a while now with somethimg called "sick" not an injury, its very vague almast laughable and seems unprofessional from my point of view.

Sitting behind a desk eating a Snickers when you're feeling unwell isn't quite the same as playing top level sport.

Your absolutely right mate they are miles apart, with respect my point stands whats the problem with all these players is it private matters ? Or covid ? A snickers is always welcome😊. Sitting behind a desk is not my forte however getting up at 6:45 am to go and work on a cold building site all day, and giving it my all when i have a poorly tummy or whatnot requires more "Balls" than what im witnessing and hearing coming from our camp.
