I know Maurizio personally from our time at Empoli together. And I hope Chelsea fans appreciate what a great manager he is. When his players buy in, the team plays the most beautiful football in Europe next to Guardiolas teams. He’s right, there are some players on this team that lack desire and are probably not well suited for his system. Luiz, Alonso, maybe even rudiger have to go. Sarri needs time to implement his system and with the arrival of Higuain, that will be much need injection of goals but also desire and professionalism which Sarri demands. Give him the funds to get another CB, left fullback, CM and a CF and Chelsea fans will be very happy with the results. If the players are not professionals and don’t want to buy into they system then it could be Avery long time before his club becomes serious contenders for major trophies.

Klopp came in to Liverpool and almost immediately fixed their scoring issues under Rodgers. Remember Norwich 4 Liverpool 5. He slowly fixed their defensive issues. But since he is an attacking manager, he got that fixed right away. Sarri the attacking manager has come and has somehow orchestrated a worse attack than under Contè. It’s not necessarily homegrown or English players, it’s having players that love the club and have a relationship with it’s fans and understand what it is to play for Chelsea and the big deal that is. Of course those characteristics are more common in homegrown players who grew up playing for the club and have full awareness of its culture but Drogba, Essien, Azpilicueta were overseas imports and always gave 100% for the team regardless of the manager. We are in a period of rebuilding where JT, Lamps, Drog, Cole, Cech (the core of our team) have all now left. The club needs to back managers more, get the players they need for their system and give them time to build a new identity and a new core to breed long term success. Chopping and changing managers every 2 years when we don’t pick up a trophy only furthers this current culture of short-terminism, inconsistency and players downing tools when things dont go their way.

Pojo Pojo not true. Pep really wanted Jorginho to play regista in his City team behind Silva and KDB. The difference is Pep has an entire team who are capable of playing in his system/philosophy and Sarri does not. Although he played shit yesterday, the issue isn’t Jorginho, or Kante playing RCM. We have the best defensive record outside of Liverpool and City. It’s the players around them that are failing to adapt or are simply not good enough. Alonso cannot defend, always gets caught out of position, is slow and can’t cross. We don’t have a proper creative attacking midfielder who puts up numbers. That’s not Jorginho or Kante job, one is a tempo setter that moves his team up the pitch and the other is a box to box ball winner/carrier. It’s obvious what we need from watching us so we need to back the manager in the market to help him build. Liverpool bought Klopp players for his system look at them, City bought players for Peps system and look at them. Sarri wanted Kante and Hazard to adapt meanwhile his son Jorginho play registrar because Jorginho fit Sarri's philosophy. Game after game, he used this same specific tactic every time even though many teams already figured out how to beat Chelsea: they stopped Jorginho. *This, to me, really is a flaw in the system. You can tell me if I'm wrong* When you able to stop Jorginho, Chelsea lost. Aaron Ramsay was assigned to mess with Jorginho yesterday and it worked really really good. Was Jorginho at fault? Maybe. But is there a flaw in Sarri's only tactic here? Yes, emphatically. Still a believer in "system"? For me, a great manager is someone who can pull the best out of the players and adapt his game to suit how the players play >>>> a manager who makes players play the way he likes but his players secretly don't like it. Is possession without directness and aggression the best football tactics? I do not think so. Sarri has to use Callum Hudson-Odoi more and play with a natural striker. During conte reign, they are complaining about having so little of possesion and touch. Now with sarri they always have the ball but keep on wasting chances. When sarri talk about mentality, he is right because chelsea player clearly afraid/cant focus. They lost so much ball, even hazard is so frustrating at times, losing ball in the final third because he is too greedy.
