Nothing but facts spoken here by turkish stricto and chris hudson here. All those fans who talk about standards forget that the position we were in a few years ago. The club was in absolute mud. We never challenged for a league title since invincible season let alone winning it and the whole fanbase was divided and lost in hope. Arteta came and rebuild this club from such a diabolical position to now a position that we are challenging for title with the best league team ever played in the premier league in man city. Look at how the other managers with big names have come to other clubs and absolutely flopped and made them worse like chelsea man utd spurs. They are far away from competing let alone winning the league. Trophies are gonna come soon at arsenal especially when pep will also leave city in 1-2 yrs and we will create our own domination in league with arteta.

In relation to the discussion regarding Declan Rice and how he should be best deployed for the team, what is either misunderstood or simply overlooked is that he was being operated as both a defensive midfielder and a box to box midfielder, as opposed to a defensive and central midfielder which was implied by having been tagged as a number 6 or 8. Midfield play comprises quite a multitude of facets, and to this end a central midfielder typically has a different protocol to that of a box to box midfielder. Rice's fluid ball winning ability whether he's relatively static or in transit, as well as strong ball carrying and intelligent pass selection or option to shoot, is why I believe Arteta wants to develop him even further in that box to box role in order to try and give the team the closest thing we've seen to a Patrick Vieira, our best ever box to box midfielder.

So anyway as for everyone else who isn't trying to be a football scientist tryhard-ing to overcomplicate the game Rice is not an 8 he's stiff & not good in the final third, can't play an incisive pass to save his life. @@patchh15Elite DMs can play on the turn under pressure deep and make incisive passes. He isn’t elite, but his gas tank works well as an 8. He is elite in a multitude of attributes, but isn’t quite an 8 or 6. He would thrive in a system that suits him.

There’s so many moving parts and variables in a season. Not only in ours but also in our rivals seasons.
