As an Arsenal fan, I just want to fully point out that our nickname the Gunners comes from the when we were founded in 1886 in the Borough of Woolwich. We were established by munition workers in "The Royal Arsenal" factory. Ammunition - Cannon (our badge), hence our nickname the Gunners. Hope this helps those who didn't know! :)

I'd also add David Rocastle and Paul Davis to the list of great Arsenal players. Davis joined the club as a teenager in 1977, and was a cultured midfielder with a sweet left foot shot, debuting against Tottenham in 1980. David Rocastle joined the club in 1984, another midfielder with a sweet right foot, he sadly passed away from leukaemia in 2001.

Best club ,,, love love love!! forget 1919 bro, that was eons ago, the impressive part is they have never been relegated since and won most titles till 1973! They are also ethical after 1919 whatever you want to say about that phase, they did deserve to be in the top league as they had tenure! its was very fair imo acc to the times! To this day Arsenal are immense immense immense!!!

I can assure you that arsene is held is more esteem than any other manager we’ve had and the small divide is simply because our owners are incredibly tight and for 22 years gave him nothing but crumbs to spend hypothetically if a club like utd or Chelsea was to spend 200 million in a transfer window the kronkes would give him around 50 awful owners

I don’t know where this guy got his information from about how Arsenal FC got its nickname, but he’s got it wrong. This is how they got their nickname. Arsenal FC got the nickname the Gunners from being formed in 1886 by munitions workers at the Royal Arsenal factory.

@AriasandtheNation Great reaction guys, looking forward to this. After this series you could check out the Coronation Cup, only held in the year when a new UK Monarch is crowned. Not been announced yet for 2023. It's only been held twice, 1902 and 1953, with only one winning team 😉

The only problem with doing a series on English football is that in the comments there are going to be loads of partizan and biased views. This team is this, these fans are that etc.... All you need to know is that the culture of English football has changed so much in 20 years (for the worse in my opinion). Rich investors now determine success whereas before clubs would often be run by people with historic ties to the team. Success would always be about what happened on the pitch, how well the club was run and how well they were supported. Before football became financially doped the three biggest and most successful teams were Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal. I imagine that this comment is going to rattle a few people but this is not the intention.

Well also when arsenal moved to the so called north of London it actually wasn’t north London so spurs wasn’t in north London and the time when arsenal came and a few years later it turned into north London actually arsenal where the first club to be in north London As the area of north London now we know was made slightly bigger that includes spurs Many others things to include but too many to state but over it’s fine I guess

But have always been a London club. The other North London club only became a recognised London club when the boundary of Middlesex was moved in the 1960's. So The Arsenal have been in North London longer than Tottenham Hotspur.

The invisibles? 🤣🤣 They haven’t won as many trophies as Manchester United. Arson Wenger wasn’t a good a manager at Sir Alex Ferguson. Arson Wenger only won 17 trophies at his time at Arsenal as a manager. Sir Alex Ferguson won 38 trophies as a manager at Manchester United.

You fail to realise Man U has always been a bigger club and Arsenal have always been punching above their weight. United have always had the bigger stadium and the city to themselves as a club, Do you even realise how many professional football clubs are in London. Finally, despite what you say about Alex Ferguson vs Arsene Wenger, Arsene and Arsenal are the most successful in the the sports oldest competition.
