I think Fofana will be an amazing signing if we can use him as a squad player and rotate. As Charles said i am not sure he's the one that would take us to the next level. Rather, if we have Fofana as a backup and squad player(i don't know whether he will accept it though as he is a French international player) it will be much more like a Mancity squad. Relatively cheap price put on to a quality player, i think he could be the trossard type signing

Hi Charles, Thanks for the regular quality content. Been thinking of how we can improve our squad which already is one of the best in Europe. Spend heavily (80-90 mil) on ONE player who would start and immediately improve our midfield - FDJ / Bruno. One Havertz like signing (50-60 mil) - Olise / Neto - back up to Saka, so injury issues shouldn't be a problem. One project signing - Sesko (Havertz starts as striker next season, so technically Sesko would replace Nketiah.) To improve Martinelli, Jesus, Zinchenko, Vieira, ESR to get the best out of them. Arteta said he wanted to improve the players we already have. Arteta might not want to lose ESR. I have a gut feeling next season's highlights would be Emile's redemption story! Eddie, Nelson, Ramsdale, Partey.. probably the first team players to leave. - Devanjan, India.

As much as it hurts, selling Partey makes sense. We save appx 11m in salaries and hopefully add 10 to 15 million in sales. Add 10 to 20 mil and see if a good player is available. Problem is where do you get a player that is decent. Tough one this.

I feel that when Granit and Zinny had the left to help Martinelli it was also viewed that the left 8 can cover the LB spot in the 22/23 season Last season we ended up being more focused on defensive security due to Zinny being exposed which meant the left 8 and why Kai didn’t work there is its been more a focus of protection for the left, hence Jorgi and Rice been our preferred duo. Now Timber is back n targeted to play LB I feel that left 8 role is now tailor made for a ball carrying player and I believe it will be ESR The fact Arteta played him there against Everton to influence the game for me showed this is his vision for next season Maybe more heart than head with this take but I’m keen to see ESR be given that role and have the rotation of LW & Left 8 being swapped between Gabi, Leo and Emile He has what it takes and can become our Foden Rice at 6, ESR & Øde against a low block would be an incredible midfield I’d still like a midfielder brought in but one who is a ball playing holding midfielder like de Jong and then it gives options as to rest Rice as well as play Rice in the Left 8 when against teams to dominate the ball - Rice, de Jong and Øde would be my dream away in the CL midfield scenario set up ESR can be integral and I know you Love wrestling Charles so view it like Cody - ESR WILL FINISH HIS STORY Ben Randm🙏🏾💗🙌🏾

Hi Charles, One more comment from me - looks like Nwaneri and Obi-Martin have had successful u17 tournaments so far. Unfortunately, England’s run came to an end against Italy, but Nwaneri scored the side’s only goal of the match and converted in the penalty shootout. Chido did the same for Denmark helping to send them to the next round, but both have scored a few times each! Hopefully both have strong seasons ahead of them!

Arteta is unquestionably doing an excellent job at Arsenal. Also, Pep has stated several times that Arsenal will be making a huge mistake if they do not tie down Arteta because he knows what he is capable of and we have not seen anything yet. So, if the Arsenal board is willing to make him one of the highest-paid managers in the Premier League, I believe he deserves it for what he has accomplished thus far.

Hi Charles, Regarding Fofana, I’d like us to sign two midfielders this summer and so he would be a great option alongside a marquee Bruno G or De Jong etc. You’d be looking at about 120m for those two. I’d spend 80-100m on a striker and 30m on a defender like Hato. Depending on sales, I’d try and get a versatile number 10/wide player like Xavi Simmons and a cheap backup keeper (this may have to be a free agent). Then we win the quadruple next season. Simple, eh? Thoughts?

While i believe Arteta deserves another season to prove he can get us over the line in the league along with the other trophies up for grabs, i dismiss the notion that him leaving would set us far back as a club. He has the club in an all round stable and progressive state so the foundations even for a rebuild are set and strong n should provide a swift and productive teething period for a proven and experienced manager coming in. We have not in recent times shown any interest in proven coaches with champions league winning pedigree and begs alot to wonder if that may be 1 of a few reasons we have never won it before. I don't want us to come 2nd and win an FA Cup, we have waited over 20 years to win a league title. I won't be upset, but very frustrated if we don't win a league title or CL next season. Let's go big for a striker, as we did for Rice, Charles we are not a top 4 side anymore, we're a top 2 side! This is the game you have to play with City, that's why Liverpool won 1 title because they just kept tweaking. Man City and Fergie's Utd bought many big stars and it paid off. Wengers 98-2004 Arsenal kept tweaking and even though we were successful the tide never changed, which Wenger was hoping to do. So don't be shocked if we continue to buy big, we had the Kroenke's wrong. Arsenal was run by many billionaires all fighting on what to do with the club, now it's down to one owner, and they have more respect for an English club than they did, compared to their American clubs. Stan perhaps sees his clubs as assists and perhaps Josh sees them as investments, with the attitude of the more you invest the more you get out, which includes understanding what the manager and fans want. 👍👍⚽⚽

I think people forget Jorginho kept out of the midfield at the end of last season despite Party being one of the best players in the league last season. And after a relatively poor Dec our form improved a lot once Jorginho was starting again (and Havertz moved to the 9 position).personally I don't think we improved when Partey was brought back in, we started labouring to wins again. Sorry but I don't think Partey is as good FOT THE TEAM as many seem to claim, at least not since last season. He looks great on the ball but don't think we progress with him any more. I understand why we're looking at players like Bruno G.

Will Liverpool fall back "so far" with the new manager ? Not if they have proper processes in place. So why should Arsenal fall back "so far" if Arteta was to go ? Yesterday there was a video mentioning the 180 page dossier that Edu has. I doubt that Arteta had a huge amount of input into that. Arteta, if Arsenal have evolved the organisation correctly, is one component in the business. An important one but not irreplaceable and there are plenty of good coaches in Europe who should be able to step in. I sincerely hope this is the case and we don't have another "irreplaceable " manager.
