I agree with you around 31:15. Zen isn't a fun matchup, but he's just the Mascot for the current meta. Yes, you can play smart and wait out and plan for his big turn. But no matter how you block, it'll feel bad. And that's where I think the meta hurts now, because even with a handful of 4 block 0 cost D-reacts, you're still having 5-10 leak through each turn. Then having a turn where you can't take any cards from their hand and doing it again.

I will say, what never gets old is when Zen uses descendant gust wave and I block with an attack and creepers in a chains of eminence..... And whisper bonds...of...ancestry....or the same thing with inner chi when they are using their traverse.... It made me smile to kill an enigmas turn when they double transcended and I chained their inner chi.... It still makes me smile

I was watching another channel talk about this, and it asked "how many cards can you put in to defend against another hero before your deck starts failing to do what it's meant to do". Chains of Eminence is nice, and if you can play it at instant speed it's nicer, but it doesn't help you win. Just holds back the flood on defence while taking slots away from offensive capability.

@@RatPackTXC it's not a win by any stretch of the imagination. But it can disrupt a very powerful turn and keep you alive. By and large. I find most of my wins against Zen come from effectively blocking three pitching of blue to my grasps and swinging my reaping blade for 1 + 3. Eventually they have to start blocking or they have a bad turn and I can crack back with arcane damage knowing that they don't have any arcane barrier...

As a Levia main I understand why Hayden is down on the hero as a design but Shadowrealm Horror is a busted card which opens up a lot of deck building puzzles. The larger issue is that it was released in the same set as Nuu which is a nightmare matchup. It isn’t only Nuu playing Levia’s blues out of banished, it’s the passive hero power that prevents blocking attack actions from going to the graveyard.

I'm very, very down on this current meta. My hero is nigh-on unplayable and it's extremely discouraging, it's at least made me branch out to another hero until Nuu and Zen leave, which has been interesting, but my heart belongs to Teklovossen.

I played prism into Zen and really tried, I died turn 3 without getting to play with 1 art of war at turn 2. He killed me through figment of triumph -1 reduction on the art of war turn and stonewall turn 3. I still don't understand how Hayden Dale still think its not bonkers with the play pattern. I have to cut all my no blocks to even get to turn 5+ and in a situation where I have to have ALS before they draw Art of war. The Zen player felt so bad that I didn't get to play that he just said "Sorry, Zen is busted".

@@ajwebber that's cool. We're allowed to disagree. I just really hate the hero, doesn't feel like Flesh and Blood when you play against him. Feels like the only decisions you make that matter during a game against Kano is the turn he is going off.
