The reality is if we as Arsenal fan's read between the lines Arteta may have a shortlist of transfer targets 95% of them the club will never get him or struggle to get these deals over the line. So what will happen is they will source out cheap opportunistic alternatives for him he never asked for and just expect him to manage/coach them into winning cups this is the same roundabout at Arsenal every year. I don't really see what UEFA could have done. Move the tournament up 1 week? Firstly, that would have to be announced at least 1 year ago. Secondly, I am sure people would have found arguments against that as well. The FA pushing the season start back 1 week. Possible, but the games need to be played at some point, and there is a lot of congestion already. Too many games to be played, and with all competitions getting bigger, there will be even more games. Then, the Williams release clause: we completed the Raya deal and brought in that young keeper. Lokonga and Tavarez are gone. The release clause can not be a problem. Finally, we shouldn't forget that the transfer market is slow all across Europe. This is an unusual year, and if we consider the circumstances, all of this had to be expected.
