Mr. Dein, a relic of a former era when board members and directors saw themselves as guardians and custodians of their clubs. Not a vehicle to enrich themselves. The fact that My Dein was kicked out of the club for wanting to bring the Kronke’s into to buy the club to compete with the United and Chelsea is so sad 😭 because we lost soo much when he left.
@ATASCOCITACARCAREANDCOLLISIONАй бұрын
Just to get the facts right - Dein sold out for 70m pounds to Usmanov. He was 100% against the Kroenkes. That set our club back 15 years because of the boardroom struggle due to the Kronkes reluctance (quite rightly) to enrich a hostile major shareholder. Dein was fantastic for most of his tenure to be fair, but the day he went against Fizman and the other directors wishes, was the day he hurt Arsenal very badly. I believe the above to be factually correct but if not, please enlighten me.
@oliverbowserАй бұрын
@@ATASCOCITACARCAREANDCOLLISION I believe your information to be incorrect. As I said it was Mr Dein who tried to introduce the Kronkes originally and the original board Fizman et al, resisted this (this was around the time Abramovic was buying Chelsea). Usmanov was then also suggested (by Mr Dein years later) when it appeared the Kronkes weren’t serious about full ownership and of course this upset the status quo, but Mr Dein was trying to compete commercially off the field with the was football was going (basically where it is now) and all this can be read in Mr Dein’s autobiography. Thus it was the other board members that didn’t want to give up their power & influence which ultimately cost the club on and off the pitch for years. They forced Dein out the club, which was ridiculous as in my opinion it was primarily his vision and work with Wenger which caused us to have prominence on and off the pitch. Selah
@ATASCOCITACARCAREANDCOLLISIONАй бұрын
@@oliverbowser . As far as I know, and I just looked again, Kroenke purchased 29.5% of the shares and agreed to stop there because the Carr family sold to them without a broad agreement from the Board and other major shareholders. As far as I know, (and there's no documentation but I do think we'll find out in years to come), KSE tried to buy the shares at the market rate but Usmanov offered more to Dein, while also thinking Dein could influence the Board to accept Red and White over KSE. But that was a mistake because Fizman (who was dying from cancer) preferred KSE and had persuaded the rest of the shareholders to sell to Kronke. I'm not sure about the details, as I've said, but suffice to say KSE paid Usmanov $550m for his $65m investment seven years prior. I believe KSE had always intended to do with Arsenal what they have done since 2018. I also think Fizman trusted them to do it. Unfortunately I think Dein wanted the money and believed he would be a large player in Red and White's plans, securing a lucrative job for life and a cash payout. KSE didn't want Dein involved - rightly or wrongly, but that's why we spent 10 years in the wilderness as a club. Again, just my reading of the situation.

I still don’t like how Wenger NEVER WENT ALL OUT to overthrow SAF; he always ahead the better players and teams…made a lot of lousy excuses to sell and sell and sell and fool people to think without selling the Stadium would never have been built. But there’s no way you get loaned money to build a stadium on the basis that you’ll have to SELL players to fund the premiums ! Only gullible have believed this. That stadium was ALREADY paying itself as per the loan application and approval process and procedures. Wenger didn’t mandatorily have to dismantle our best teams season after season. At best, he could have kept teams on 3 year circles to win 🏆 🏆 and then sell thereafter. Wenger UNDERACHIEVED A LOT TROPHY-wise at Arsenal. It’s embarrassing! He had personal glory and ambitions and was fortunate to USE Arsenal to achieve that at the expense of the club. For me, one CL with the Invincibles would have been sufficient. I respect all his body of work on which Arsenal have continued to build on after him; but what I say above has valid grounds.
