@@ibolebob it’s the opposite, we have too many small/medium zone players. Odegaard the prime example, a Bernardo Silva type small zone, ‘pass before the final pass’ type player. The only creator we have is Saka. What we need is attacking firepower - powerful, long distance ball carriers with pace (Leao, Rashford, Eze, Kudus) and final ball specialists (KDB, Trent, Wirtz). Rashford is right there on a plate for us, we should be all over it.

Arsenal's biggest strength is it's most glaring weakness. The defenders take too long to progress the ball allowing all eleven opponents to get behind the ball then forcing us to breakdown their low blocks. Our style of Play is a big part of the problem..

We have very good defenders actually and they are great at progressing the ball idk what ur talking about. Saliba is comfortable under pressure, Gabriel has elite long balls and Timber is a great ball carrier. The problem is actually the midfield, Ødegaard is almost never making runs, Rice no longer makes his signature drives through the midfield and Merino is not exactly an outstanding ball progressor. Martinelli's lack of threat also compounds this issue

I have been saying for months that Arsenal's problem is that the tempo is too slow and they are not direct enough. When they have the kick-off they should go directly to goal instead of passing the ball all the way back to the goalkeeper to start over again. All the unnecessary passing around the pitch when the opposing team is behind the ball has to stop. We also need someone to take the ball and run at the defense. The other problem is that they didn't buy the players they should have, the number one being Viktor Gyokeres, but they were too cheap to pay the release clause. Gyokeres is durable, robust, he is good in the air, can shoot with both feet, he's fast, powerful, extremely good at pressing, relentless, and can play across the frontline. Football is a fickle sport. One moment, everything is fine, we arent conceding, scoring goals and all that then boom. Players injured, getting worse, burnout, mentally distraught. It happens. Initially anyone would have rated the work in our last window as 6/10 or 7/10 max but after going through everything that happened this season up until now. This hindsight turned our previous transfer window as a 4/10 or 2/10 lowest. It's was easy for us to see that everything goes well but when the unexpected happens, it shatters our views and forces us to rekindle our ideas and preparation. Fans are twice as fickle. A manager’s job is to platform the players he has in the best possible way. From the trenches he’s turned us into the best defence itw and top 10 attacks itw. That being said, how is he supposed to break teams like Fulham down when our only final ball specialist is Saka? It's baffling how partey is not getting his deserved credit this season so far. Arteta, been a stubborn coach and trying to prove point and not admitting his mistakes, is a major problem of arsenal. Last season, havertz midfield project failed woefully, leading to the unintended false 9 strategy to accommodate him in the squad and the eventual failure to sign a proven striker in summer. This season, Rice has not clicked well and Merino is non-existent, but the gaffer will rather deploy the team's best midfielder at RB to prove a point and rather include Merino. Not only is the midfield balance upset, but also the attack and the defense to an extent also upset.

I'm inclined to think that Arteta took note of the impact to the squad dynamics from when he brought in Raya as a loanee and replaced Ramsdale who was not only unanimously popular within the squad, but a cornerstone of the steep upturn to our trajectory. The problem with Arsenal right now is: 1 - No team playing against us, looks like they're going to score a goal. 2 - No team we're playing against look like their going to concede a goal either. However. To be 11 goals down after just 16 games on the 2022-23 season, is rather telling. That's almost a whole goal, per game. Imagine if we had scored 11 more goals this season and how many more points we'd have gotten. As for this January transfer window. The only defensive player I would consider is an extra right footed CB, and to raise the funds I would sell Zinchenko and Tomiyasu (love him but he's too injury prone), we have too many players that can play in the full back positions. Attacking Arteta is mad! Lol Listen, we’ve been here before. We’re doing very well. We’ve played 6/9 of the fixtures rated DIFFICULT by PL. Liverpool and City have played only 3/9. Liverpool have been fortunate with fitness for their key players, not so us. That’s not a variable Arteta can do anything about! To have the points we have, and to have not lost more games, with the issues we’ve had to face, it’s absolutely commendable! PL is a marathon. Permutations and variables will iron out and soon people will see that what seemed like a lead for Liverpool, was merely poor analysis of true facts; as more and more fixtures pile up, a Liverpool team looking good, could be headed for a time of challenges of their own. Let’s see how they deal without their Odegaard, GM6, Tomiyasu, Calafiori, Rice, Merino, Timber, etc, players who cost us some points at some point when they were absent. We’ve started slowly before and finished very very strongly with the league decided on the 38th game. Don’t waste time listening to Thierry Henry, he knows nothing about coaching.
