You’re beautiful Nanny!!! I keep telling everyone who’d listen, I hope to be so enthusiastic about life and so caring about yourself, both your inner and outer beauty , when I get to be in my eighties. Of course since I’m from the Philippines, I won’t look like you but I hope to have your energy and your love for life as I age. I’m 68 years old and just had my 56 year anniversary in America! I came here in 1967 and I was 12 years old and scared to death but I adjusted, with difficulty. You’re so blessed you had your mother to teach you all those wonderful things, sewing, knitting etc. My mom passed away when I was 19 and I was never really introduced to cooking, home like stuff since I was the 5th child of 7 children. The older siblings took care of the domestic stuff and the young ones just played. Sorry for rambling but I just wanted to let you know how your videos are so endearing to me. Continued prayers for you and your Moose!

I was thinking of this recently and wanted to share it with you. At most stages of a woman's life we get a heads up on what to expect from our mothers, friends etc. whether it be our teen years, marriage, child bearing, menopause. The one stage of life we rarely hear about is what to expect as we age. You give us that insight. Thank you so much.

Good afternoon Nanny. Just finished watching your fabulous video and reading the wonderful comments. I totally agree with all of them, we truly are a unique sisterhood! Let me just say that the older I get the more I love satin and lace and anything that sparkles! Love to add lace to my denim jackets and shirts. Usually buy them at a thrift store so I won’t be out so much money if I have a fail. God bless all you ladies out there, thank you for letting me be a part of your sisterhood. God bless you Nanny, our fearless leader. Please keep these wonderful videos coming! 💄💋❤

I really enjoyed this today,I had to laugh when you said you were born in the wrong century😅I say that too.About Twenty years ago we were on holiday in Italy and went on on a trip to an island where there was lace for sale and things trimmed in lace and the ladies who made it were sat behind the tables making the lace,I brought a sweet baby bonnet trimmed with lace as my daughter was expecting a baby at the time.

I had the same hobby of collecting antique lace. I used a lot of it as trim in the 70’s when I sewed for my little girls. I even had the red turkey work “good morning and good night” pillow shams. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

It reminds me of the Scranton Lace Company in Scranton, Pa, where I’m from. It employed many people and was well known. It opened in the late 1890’s and closed in 2002. Your new vanity and mirror look beautiful. It’s good that you’ve gotten to make come true your love for Victorian style decorating. ❤️

Hi Nanny! Loved your 'retro-Victorian look' and make-up tutorial. Also the vanity and retro mirror are perfect! Just a little time in the morning to look our best makes a world of difference in our feeling good about ourselves. Your make-up and hair look great! Yes, I think you were born in the wrong century....but you carry off your fashion and exuberance with style and pizzaz! Age is a matter of mindset and finding joy and purpose in every day....and looking our best is a gift we give ourselves! Keep up the wonderful videos!

The Sisters of St. Joseph of Charondolet, originating in France, taught women to make lace so they could make a living if they had no family. They founded the university where I teach in California. Wonderful women and saved many women from the street walking trade 350 years ago! Lace is a beautiful, almost lost art! Love it! Thank you for sharing your collection.

They built a college on a high hill overlooking Southern Cal where the bishop said that no one ever would attend because it was so far from L.A. They built it anyway and have educated thousands of students since, especially in nursing and education. Your service to the thousands of women here on your vlog (and the many many children you taught in your career) is in keeping with the sisters’ mission of helping women find solace, insights and connection. My grandmother crocheted beautifully. I have a bed spread she crocheted and she also crocheted booties for my first son, which I still have from over 60 years ago. I also have all of her crochet needles, but never learned the art of crocheting. She also did beautiful embroidering. She once embroidered a beautiful peacock, on the front of a blouse she made for me, when I was a child. She was the best seamstress in our town, in her younger years. Although I never learned her other two talents, she did teach me how to sew and I`m very grateful for that. It`s sad to say, many of those arts are not embraced by the now generation today, not even simple sewing. I love your Channel Nanny. You too are a very talented lady and very informative. Love and Blessings to You and Moosie.

We're so fortunate to be on the receiving end of your nuggets and vignettes and bits of wisdom. ☺️😍 I remember those lace collars, they were so pretty around the jewel neck of my soft turquoise Orlon sweater -- thanks for that reminder!! 🤗 And as always thank you for being you and for inviting us into your cottage, and for working so diligently on these video productions. ❤ Much love to you and Moosie. 😘⭐🕊️🙏😁

I love all the same things you do. I love battenburg lace and have some of that and two large white tablecloths still in the wrapper for years that I have never used............I couldn't bear to have to clean it or iron it as it's so pristine. Silly me! At my age I should use my good china and lace tablecloths' each day I believe. My mother the last several years of her life did use her good china for every day............God bless her, she did it right!!!! Sometimes I ask myself.............."if not NOW when?" True enough. I use it to display but rarely do we use it except on Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving. Great video Nanny and your lace robe is gorgeous.......absolutely! I have tons of lace from projects never done and a wedding gown I got at GW for 15$ that I should fuzzy cut into medallions and the like.................so much I want to have time to do.................(Sigh) Love your hair do.........classic and beautiful!

Nanny, that is funny you mentioned making your own “Hair Rat”!!! I made one about a year or so ago and when my color starts growing out, and my grey shows in the Crown of my head I pin into my hair this elongated Hair Rat to cover the Grey and give volume to my flat-headed Crown area. I made it out of a knee-high Brown stocking- Works Great!!!!

I love your hair. I am going to try and do mine like yours. It looks so gorgeous. I use the dewy makeup you recommend I love it. I have some beautiful old linens with gorgeous lace. I love your idea of adding the lace to a lovely shawl. I was born in the wrong century also. I use the powder spray in my hair as it has always been fine and thin. What an amazing idea you shared. I use it all the time now. My hair looks thick. I love the laces. Your makeup is just gorgeous. I love love love this video. You are so creative. Thank you so much. Please do one like this again. I really enjoyed. It is a pleasure being a sister to all you ladies. I am so happy to be a part of my life with each of you. You have no idea what it adds to my life. Nanny, you’re Amazon purchase of the Champagne Nightgown and Dressing Gown was a Coup right enough 😜 The Lace attached just added Elegance and Quality to the ensemble. 👍 The First time I saw woman crocheting Lace, was in Belgium. A School Trip in 1970. Little Old Flemish Ladies, sitting outside their home’s, Crocheting away! Nanny, I loved The Gibson Hairstyle on you. You really suit it. I am happy I found you on my" KZbin".. I am 81, and was very near death the last of July 2023, in a coma and airlifted to Tampa Hospital, in Fl. I keep trying to catch what you use "Glow stick, and pair of tubes from Amazon". I did get the biogel and used it, didn't know I couldn't use on eyelids. Thought I was damaging my eyes. Got to listening to uses of Castor Oil, and found It was helpful on the eyes, and could help thicken hair. I found some today and will give it a try. '''''We will be leaving the last day of Oct. to see my brother who will be celebrating 97th BD in Nov. In Illinois... He and his wife of 72 years, raised 8 beautiful children. God Bless all our Children and You and Moose, too!!!! bd
