I love listening to Artie’s interviews ( especially with this interviewer). He answers honestly & thoughtfully with admirable intelligence. I enjoy listening to his speaking voice & totally love his singing voice. He will always be my favorite singer of all time - also respect his many other talents. ❤️❤️

I had the opportunity to see and hear Art in concert at Fallsview in Niagara Falls in 2015. He sang wonderfully, but apologized for not being able to sing all parts of some songs and his son also contributed. What I really enjoyed beyond the singing was the stories. He took out what looked like the back of an envelope and related stories, some of which were delivered like poems. He made a wonderful connection with the audience and it was a very enjoyable show. Thanks, Art.

Yes and that's basically by two simple things that are sadly almost forgotten these days: he is interested in what the other person is saying, and therefore he truly listens to him.

You must hear Art Garfunkel sing the song Disney Girls, which was originally a Beach Boy song. It is fantastic. I saw him in concert once and he got 5 standing ovations. He has an amazing voice.

These two part Costas interviews of Art Garfunkel was so inciteful and revealing of the Simon & Garfunkel dynamic. Paul and Artie's history was nuanced and rich. Costas was impeccable in syphoning out Art's personality and emotions without being too showmanship and gotcha questioning. Very Well Done...I learned more here about the duo than any other interviews.

A wonderfully intelligent and talented man. The genuine affection between he and Paul is obvious. The media driven hype about disagreement and contention is probably based on the inevitable tensions which arise when a band or group reach the dizzy heights of Simon and Garfunkel in such a short time and so young. Loved the interview, all credit to the producers. Tom, get your plane right n time.

Garfunkel has always been a mystery to me. Simon, on the other hand, has always been very popular and very much in the media for decades. Simon is great and we got to know him because of his accessibility. After watching this video I would love to have seen Garfukel being more public over the years. He is an intelligent and charming dude. He is willing to think about his responses and give an open and honest answer.

He did do some songs on his own before Simon and Garfunkel took off. Search "Beat Love," "Private World," "Please Forgive Me," from the late '50s.

For me, Simon needed Garfunkle more than the reverse. It's nice he now sees they were letting small things get in the way of such a great partnership. It might be interesting to see what together they could make out of some of Simon's solo hits. Maybe nothing, who knows. Maybe it's better to go forward. It might be interesting to see what Garfunkle could do with more lyrically complex songs: like some of the simpler songs of Dylan and Cohen, or Nature Boy. Things other than love songs.

Garfunkle just seems articulate and confident and perfectionists, but that doesn't equate to egoism. Simon seemed to have low self esteem, be self conscious about his height, and have the false idea that Art was more handsome. Some people just think people who express themselves well must be self centered. I don't see it. I think the break was mostly Simon's insecurity.

He is just too cool and too interesting to criticize anything at all, EXCEPT, I can't help but feel a little protective of Paul when there is any criticism of him whatsoever. I love both of them though, and the intricacies of bond fascinated me. I could listen to both of them indefinitely.

It is almost always men doing this cheap and dull comments😅 not understanding it makes no sense doing this ranking. Trying to make of a wonderful artistic AND human collaboration of two different men, a sort of completition, a match. They are not soldiers fighting one another, nor athletes playing one against each other. On the opposite, what makes their music so astounding is precisely their ability to cooperate, to understand each other, to be at the service one of the other, to overcome differences, or even better, to use them, to discuss and engage not about their egos, but about musical IDEAS, in order to get the better results, to create together something that is so much more beautiful, bigger and larger than the sum of the single parts. Those who don't get that this is the secret to their mesmerizing, meaningful, timeless songs, recordings, singing together, don't get the core of them. You need (at least in nature's biology ) both mom and dad to create the new life🤗🌱🌻
