Art gets a filter change

Today the aim was to get Art all ready for harvest. That involved an oil and filter change and a fuel filter change.
There was also the slight issue of why the auger wouldn't fold back down!!

John when drilling a hole always use a smaller drill first, then work up to the correct size you will find it much better going every time.Also make sure you blow the chips away from the bearing otherwise you will create more trouble for yourself.

I would have just made a collar to go between the bolted collar and the bearing housing rather than drill a new hole. That way you could adjust the depth by just changing collars. Awesome job keep up the videos, spend every second day waiting for them to come out.

Yea that's how they are from new, surprisingly rough, just a bit of Galv pipe cut roughly to length, not pretty but simple But you don't want it hard against the bearing you want about 1cm gap to allow the shaft to sit hard against the centre coupler and keep weight off the bearing

Maybe you could put coil springs between the nuts and the bearing housing, with longer bolts, on the end of the chaser bin auger , to give the coupler at the auger fold a margin for error ?.... I have seen that on other chaser bins ,..... :) just a thought , great video .

you did good can ue gaffa tape over the bearing so you do get sawwf or dust into the bearing while you drilling

My old boss had a cut down shuttle for a dog pull so his dogs could actually sit under the water unlike in a shell pool they were to big to get fully wet

I run a 9520R on a speetiller and one day it has heaps of hydraulic oil and the next it has none but there’s always heaps in there so we don’t know what’s going on

I'd be questioning where all that oil is going though I'm guessing you may have an idea

You should be running your drill in reverse at 19:57 then it doesn't grab.
