Hi, I absolutely love your channel! I loved in this video how you give the locations of where the artists were situated. This is a period I'd like to read about more. Could you give a few book recommendations?

For further reading, two very readable books by Sue Roe on the Parisian context of the art are ‘In Montmartre’ and ‘In Montparnasse’ (published by Penguin). For more in-depth analysis of the art, the following from the Thames and Hudson ‘World of Art’ series are useful; ‘Picasso’ (Timothy Hilton), ‘Matisse’ (Lawrence Gowing), ‘Fauvism’ (Sarah Whitfield), ‘DaDa: Art and Anti Art’ (Hans Richter), ‘Modigliani’ (Carol Mann), ‘Chagall’ (Jean Cassou), ‘Duchamp’ (Dawn Ades, Neil Cox, David Hopkins), ‘Surrealism’ (Patrick Waldberg), ‘Miro’ (Roland Penrose).
