Thank you for this step-by-step painting. Roses are complicated and it’s easy to get confused. The graphite under the acrylic layer is most helpful. I watched it twice and took notes and will use this process when I need precision. This was more inspiring than my years of art classes.

Hello Joe, A really magnificent painting, with a classic approach and great explanations if needed For the grisaille, I shall have probably made a less fat medium and keep pure linseed oil for the glazing Thanks a lot for this video who tempts to paint and... as usual Joe, big kisses from France ;)

Its very beautifull a Real study of the mystery of rose - and it would be wonderfull to have a part of it in normal time just as a meditation on the rose - especially each time you go into a new step please slow down a little bit. When you talk so fast it can be difficult to catch what you say. You did it a bit when you did the mars Black. Around the petals in your grisaille underpainting. Maybe you you could write a direct link to your info page and/ or on names of materials used for your very beautifull rose painting.

Hi Lis, thanks for your comments! We had so much material to fit into this lesson, we agree it was hard trying to keep it succinct while making sure we did the beautiful rose and all its techniques justice. We've updated our blurb with the link to the materials list and included it for you here www.montmarte.net/mont-marte-tv/view/how-to-create-a-realistic-rose-in-oil-paint. Thanks again for your feedback! : )

It's a shame that you are going so FAST. It is a beautiful painting I would have liked to learn from you, but it's impossible at your speed of this video. I guess you just wanted to advertise your beautiful painting. Mission accomplished.
