"Bravo Darlings... Bravo" Magnificent. ... I am so making that Pink couch!!! I am an Artist... was an Architect... and now I "Flip" RVs On my 25th RV (I'm 66 years old and hope this is my last one) I have a Antique "Click-Clack" Couch that was in one of my Vintage Travel Trailers... I had paint Everything... including the OUTSIDE... Yes I went there!! I completely took the Vintage "Click-Clack" Couch down to the wood... and couldn't think what to do with it (as an Artist)... but now I know! Thank you all for sharing this Inspirational Video... Loved every minute of it.

Beautiful home...kudos to the architects and artists involved but let's not kid ourselves, the freedom the clients have given their design team comes from being uber wealthy and not from their so-called "spirit of adventure." I doubt that if they were people of more modest means they'd be so willing to hand over the reins.
@vincentmartin27526 жыл бұрын
That's not universally true, there are plenty of people out there who hire designers and architects within a budget.

Not true at all, yeah if the clients had more conservative taste in design the place would look different but you can still have a modest budget and still get a similar look in your home. Biggest difference between the clients in this vid who don’t have a budget and a middle class client would be the quality of the design and finishes. Instead of shopping custom or at Kelly’s wearstler, shop at cb2 or ikea or thrift store.

Not all wealthy people have "spirit of adventure" - there are so many people with so much money and very little taste.

When I see such strong aesthetics applied consistently in one home, particularly a high net worth location - it begs the question - how many homes do they own? How much time do they actually spend in this one per year? Do they carry this aesthetic into every home project or is it unique to this location? So many contextual questions that would have helped us understand them even more.
@WALDENSOFTWARE2 жыл бұрын
1.) They own several homes 2.) They spend a fraction of their year there. 3.) They do not keep the same aesthetic in every home. At most similar maybe in 1 more, but not the same.

What a fantastic work by this design team! The resin sinks stole my heart, so did the doors ad the art objects picked by the architects. . I imagine how they had to deal with the demands of the owner that her favorite Drowning Girl would be blown up a mural that looks like wallpaper). My most unexpected delight from watching this video came from reading the comments - so many thoughtful, intelligent comments by humans with sophisticated mental capabilities and fully developed vocabularies. Such a rare experience on the the internet these days

2:53 Laughed at myself so hard when I presumptuously completed her sentence in my head "...my takeaway from this project is that these clients are very "wealthy" (what I thought she was going to say). How polite of her not to have said it. She was probably thinking it! Converting six apartments in New York city for a living space for two people !?? Redistribution of wealth please. The next time someone says this planet is overpopulated, just remember, there are enough resources to sustain all of humanity, but humans have a greed, waste and distribution problem.

I'm genuinely confused by commenters saying that this isn't really a home or is uninviting. Does a space need a dash of hokiness or wood to be considered a bona fide home? If they hung a yarn sampler of, "Bless this mess" in the corner would that make you more comfortable? lol

“My takeaway” is client wants his cultural and social collateral to match his financial collateral. The aesthetics MUST express the extreme cost, even more than the “passion” for art. With that said, the architects and designers well answered his demands, and provided a wonderful trophy to live in.

Carradean Farley - A more mature, productive, thought provoking reply would go a long way. Acting like a spoiled child/snowflake that screams "shut up" when they don't agree with what has been said will get you no where. Good luck, I hope that one day you will find some maturity.

I think everyone has a different definition of what a home feels like. I really dislike when people automatically say things like this because your thoughts on what a home feels like are not the only thoughts. To them this is a home...filled with art and eccentricity. They may feel like your idea of a home isn't theirs at all. It isn't really fair to say this as a fact and not just an opinion.
@JB-so5gr6 жыл бұрын
@@kcd7641 - Haven't you contradicted yourself there by basically saying I shouldn't voice my opinion but then voicing yours on the same comment? The comment is clearly just my opinion, nothing factual about it (apart from it looks exactly like the place my partner goes to for fillers, fact). Some people think a surgery mixed modern art gallery space is homely, I don't... And that's fine, I respect their choice, the world will keep spinning.
