We do not have a Godin dealer close by but when I was working in Northeast PA there was a small dealer near the New York line that sold the Art and Lutherie guitars and I have been kicking myself ever since for not buying one !!! All of the AMAZING guitars Robert makes are simply out of this world. You can bet one will be in my hands very soon. Thank you for the great video !!!

Godin (parent company of Seagull, Art & Lutherie, Simon and Patrick and Norman) makes the best guitars on the planet in the ~$750 and under price range. Probably a much harder task than building a great guitar for $3500. They can probably do it as they have their own supply of wild cherry, cedar and spruce right in their own Quebec backyard.

I have had these guitars on my radar for a little while. The less expensive natural finish versions are made in china, so some people say they are of lower quality compared to the canadian ones. But they are an amazing value for the money. A good solid top acoustic electric guitar for 400 bucks! What a deal. Even yamaha can't beat that.

I bought a slightly used A&L Cedar CW cutaway from a dealer 10 years ago for just over $300. It is really nice. I don't play well but I have been told by a couple other actual musicians who have played it that it has beautiful intonation. I guess I got lucky and picked right.

I bought a parlor and I love it. It sounds amazing and the denim color makes it stand out.

I was looking at one of their nylon versions and seriously thinking about buying one to add along side of my old 1953 Martin 00-18 G. Like Robert said he is an over night success it only took over 30 years !!! I love listening to his videos !

I was giving it serious consideration too. The price is such a huge influence and it's a north american home grown company.

I own an A&L Roadhouse which I love. Currently planning to look at A&L Americana for my grandson. I want him to have an instrument he'll love and someday pass along to his son (or grandson). Hmmm, maybe I'll look at a Legacy too.

The Americana I am fairly sure was / is offered in three sizes .

After watching your video(s), I bought an A&L Roadhouse recently. I have the impression that for finger-picking there is hardly any better, especially at that price point. The same time I am wondering how dependent it is on the "right" strings. I tried Elixir on it - which was fairly disappointing. The original Godin strings, which seem to be kind of D'Addario's EJ16, sound so much better on it. And they sound even better after 2 weeks or so on the guitar.

Thanks for watching. I would tend to agree with your assessment on the strings. They do seem to make a big difference with these guitars. Coated strings seem somewhat lifeless on one of these.

Laminate. Solid tops, though (which is the most important). 👌

@@JIMIIXTLANKinda choked to read this. Another sell out brand. If it's coming from China it's a piece of scrap and should not bare the Name.
