Katie I too use acrylics but to paint miniature plastic and metal models and over the years have built up quite a collection of brushes, some of which I seem never to use as I prefer fine detail work to modern broad stroke type art work which would be out of place in most aspects I cover. But I've watched your series so far and am thinking along the lines of doing a background to my bed, so have a area approximately 5 foot by 3 foot and now I've seen you using an I-pad to reference from, think I could use similar as I take loads of photographs of skylines especially in winter when reds and purples are so vibrant.

Good to see what you use. Just a suggestion, for Watercolour towels, I use face washers or towels cut into 4 - not too bulky, can swap over and wash the dirty ones more often when you have a nice pile of spares. Enjoying your videos. 😀

I loved this video! 💕 Like you said I'm always kind of curious whenever it comes to the materials artists use 😅. By the way, I wanted to get started with oil paints, but I was wondering if when you paint, you use an exact ratio of linseed oil and turpentine, or do you just kind of guess as you go?
@KatieJobling
@KatieJobling 7 жыл бұрын
Aww thanks so much for the lovely feedback! On the first layers use more turps, then along with the amount of layers increase the oil. I'd start with a 1:3 (Oil:Turps), then by the end you should have more oil...Hope that makes sense!
