Factor out the 5. 3^2 + x^2 = 4^2 9 + x^2 = 16 x^2 = 7 x = sqrt 7 Then multiply the final answer by 5 to account for the scaling factor.

since the theorem is A^2+b^2=c^2 why can you not just take EF=20^2=400 and have ED=15^2=225 and just subtract to give you DF= 175 = 5√7 ? is this incorrect?
