I use these to antique metal conchos for cowboy hat bands. I also use them to accent or highlite designs I tool out on dyed leather and to paint feathers. They do not disappoint me on any surface that I use them for. However, many people use a variety of brands on all types of surface. Your attitude makes this review worthwhile. You maintain positive towards people and that is an excellent virtue in the midst of such turbulence these days.

Thank you very much for saying so! And thanks for watching too, I am glad that this product works so well for you. I will have to play with these a bit more.

@@magicallymj I think it looks good but that's not quite Bronze looks like in my mind... too fiery... it should be called Fiery bronze. ah ah

@@Nathalieroy2624 I know right?! It's like a super bright copper. I'm definitely a bigger fan of the espresso shade.

Interested to know what brand of metallics you used that were thicker or less watery than these. Did you like the turnout better? Are they super affordable like these are? Thanks for doing this btw! I wanted to buy a few (these exact shades by the way - not even kidding lol) but they don't have the shades swatched online. So I appreciate this very much ❤

I've done a few reviews of different metallic paints. They can be found on this playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLHxjeFM1qgbnb_iisQ7jgDgSko8Pj671D&si=vh6WLEv-L4oRZ8xW Most of them are just as affordable, but the Liquitex and the Culture Hustle are on the more expensive side. I'd say that of these, the Artists Loft and the Liquitex are the thickest. I love these shades! I try to get as close as I can to them for each review so hopefully you can find a brand you like. If there's a brand you want me to test out, let me know. I'll buy blindly so you won't have to. 💖

Experiment mixing different shades til you get the bronze you like. Also, any time I paint on over black, always paint a light opaque color first, THEN go over with the white or whatever light color you're using. Black is always tricky to paint over. And the thin/transparent result that you say is not hood enough, lends itself to be able to used in multilayered pieces, creating depth. Full opaque paints have their place, but Id rather use paints that aren't solid/opaque.

Thank you so much for your advice. I always love to learn from other artists. My review is mostly a basic view of the product. I do know that adding the layer onto the black first will create a different effect, but I just wanted to show what they look like if you were to paint as simply as possible, on wither a black or white canvas. That way the novice artist can go into thier project with some knowledge. I always encourage others to play with the products and to find what works best for them. I only want to give them that first step. You are 100% correct, those transparent colors are valuable for depth and other awesome effects. I didn't think of it that way when I made this video. I am learning too, I'm certainly no expert, thank you for your insight.

What product in silver would you recommend for a wood mirror frame?
@magicallymj2 жыл бұрын
My favorite silver is CultureHustles Silveriest Silver. I haven't done a review of it yet but it is so cool. But as far as the ones I have done a review for, I'd say the Liquitex Metallic Silver would be best for a wood surface. It's nice and creamy so you won't need as many coats. Thank you for asking, I hope that helps 😁

Oops! At 3:36 you paint the sixth stripe using the copper paint and then at 4:36 you dipped the brush into the bronze and applied it to the same stripe.

Thanks for your concern! But I've got a damp sponge off camera that I use to wipe the brushes. 💚

These are quite watery. I needed to do a lot of coatings…
@magicallymj2 жыл бұрын
Yes I did mention how watery they were in the video. I had to do 6 coats on most colors except the pearl tone, that one has 8 coats. How many did you need to get your desired effect?
@tendonin5980 Жыл бұрын
When painting metallics I use a similar colored matte color to basecoat. It cuts down on the number of coats I need to use.

You are interesting enough to listen to without the music, you know! I found it difficult to watch the video - not because of anything _you_ did/said, but because the jangling music kept overpowering and detracting from you - the star attraction!
