I really like it! I’m not experienced enough to speak to the paper but the journal itself is gorgeous. I think I will buy another soon

Yes! Are you Canadian? I find it hard to find Canadian focused content.

Hey love! Im starting my art journey as well. I wish i started earlier but im about 2 years in and some advice i would give is to keep the lid off that palette for the paints to dry. Cottman was a good choice.. That Koi palette is not my favorite. Idk why they charge so much for that thing. 140lb 300 gsm 100% cotton is what you want for ur watercolors to work best. Try white nights. I just did and loooove them. The pans are actually really affordable and supposedly theyre better than the tubes. I just got both granulating sets and i looove them! The Gansai Tambi art nuvo is one of my favorites too but they behave wayyy different than our western watercolors. They are thicker, almost like gouache..Oh and alcohol inks will tend to make things bleed more than water so try that ink again with just watercolor. You may have a different expierence..... Good luck!

Thank you!! I also have the art nouveau palette and am learning it. My hope is my Cottman paints will be my learning paints and I will also have some collections just to play with because the colours are pretty :) thanks for the tip of white nights. I’ve been eyeing them on amazon! I am discovering that the koi palette is a bit tough so I’m in the market to replace it. thanks for all the tips! I’ve dabbled on and off for years but only recently started making more an effort to truly learn. It’s been fun!

Nice haul....tyfs. I would probably leave the lid off the tin for them to dry. I just did it with all my tubes (transferred to pans) in a large coloured pencil tin and with the lid off it still took about 3-4 days to dry out completely. The micron pens are waterproof but don't be like me (being too impatient) and let them dry first lol and you should be all good

Thank you for watching! I checked my palette yesterday and it’s all dry now. I was able to test it out too. So happy that it worked out! I was scared a ruined them. The pens worked out! I use them for scrapbooking a lot too. They’re great!

Best way to be better prepared to get better at art is to pick up a crappy pencil, printer paper and start practicing and absorbing knowledge from masters. Art books, online classes, etc. Be specifically not be attached to materials. Just wasted time. You'll know what you need when you need it. Maybe you are doing that, I don't know you and maybe I'm being unfair, but I know so many people waste money on art supplies and don't use them. I've been there. Also, a 6 color palette is really all you need. You can make any color with that

Thank you! I’ve been slowly playing with supplies in my spare time. I am definitely trying to take a measured approach. I’ve actually been working my way through art workbooks as practice and as I do it, I learn what I’m missing. I just recently started posting about workbooks because that is my intended approach. Currently I am going through my 2nd watercolour book :)
