Just a few more. Turpentine, linseed oil, cheap white paint for gesso, materials to stretch your own canvas, cheap canvas -those drop clothes -acrylic sealer, commercial grade bleach and alcohol, acrylic paints for things like murals, spray paints for same, huge pencils, fishing line for beading, tackle boxes and tool boxes and belts for art supplies, screw holders for beads and small supplies(they mount on the walls) cork, cork board, pegboard and hooks to hange supplies on like scissors and tape rolls., tubs to clean tools in, or dye or rinse in so it doesn't go straight down the drain.

Yes! When I was in art school, Home Depot and Sears were my favorite supply stores. Other students had their fancy Art Bins, I had a tool box on wheels. Lol.
@sbdragoo44633 жыл бұрын
Dropcloth tip - use canvas drop cloths. Two reasons - One) canvas drop cloths, especially the heavier ones, stay put on the floor (or wherever you lay them), Two) when you drip or splatter paint on a canvas cloth, it soaks it up and dries it quicker where on a plastic drop cloth, the paint just sits in a puddle waiting for you to step in it and then track it onto your unprotected floor. (I can verify from experience)

I am a member of an art collective that builds large scale immersive environments. (Mushrooms 3-6' tall, a tree over 12' high, etc. made of paper mache, sheets, etc.) We buy custom colored house paint at places like Home Depot because it works and we can make sure the base color is consistent for the whole tree or whatever design element. You can even mix it into the paper mache to make it easier to cover later. (And of course mural painters use outdoor house paint!)

Hi Rae I live in Sweden and if it was not for the hardware stores I would never have been able to buy most of my art supplies, they have brands like Windsor and Newton, Derwent, and also cheaper brands of paint and drawing supplies which allows me to try and see if I want to continue without breaking my bank. I bought an incredible travel easle that I still have from 15yrs ago. Not to mention my mosaic supplies. Great video Ty Lovely lady❤
