@Jessica I get you're trying to bring attention to something that is a real problem, but one, I don't think that is something that will ever change because people like to buy cheap stuff, two, those poorer countries rely on that business for their economy and if we stopped buying those products they would be worse off, and three, that has NOTHING to do with the original comment. Again, I understand your concern, but there's a lot that goes into issues like that and no matter how much people want a change it isn't going to happen, but it is good to be aware of the situation. Also again, those countries need our business no matter how horrible the conditions are, if we stopped business with them the entire country's economy will collapse and that will make things far worse than they already are as terrible as that sounds. Its basic economics :( but thank you for spreading awareness since a lot of people don't know still

Sadly as much as we need cheap stuff cuz if income inequality and yada yada, those people also need a source of income :( Its a whole cycle that needs to be brolen down and completely replaced. And since it has taken MANY MANY YEARS to get to this point...it will take even longer to replace it, IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. The saddest thing i found out was how "green energy" and the terms related to "green" (sustainable, efficient, natural, etc) stuff is all just another marketing tactic. Example: the material used for solar panels is based on fossil fuels...and its creates a lot of pollution and garbage... :( Sorry for the depressing rant, i just wanted to say that :( Though there are still other areas of human development with hope and we can always make change and help people on a smaller and personal scale :3

That way you know who you get stuff from so it's contained? Lady near me did daycare and did that with her kids one year, but SHE made up the goodie bags the children would get at each home. Just talked to me ahead of time so she could bring her kids over to "trick or treat" at safe places.

My mom loves candles and the wax cubes. There was a point in time where we had a whole freaking collection of those wax cubes. Every year, we always get my mom candles (fruit scented, my mom can’t do flowery scents.) I’m not much of a candle person myself, but I can always appreciate a nice smelling candle.

Hi Rae! Love your videos. I just wanted to ask why you don’t invest money into a porcelain paint palette. I think a palette you can clean and reuse is much more environmentally friendly. I have one that I bought for $6 on Jerry’s Artarama and I absolutely love it. Edit: You can also use thicker plastic palettes. I have two (also from Jerry’s) that are a nice and durable plastic with large mixing wells that I can wash and reuse and they were only $1 each! I just think it’s better than buying a bunch at once and then throwing them out, and in the long run you’d be saving money.

Every time you say “for only a dollar” I chuckle because it’s the dollar tree as well as growing up my family would occasionally take road trips to the 99 cent store and my Gma always said, “I wonder how much this is?” To which my mom and I would say, “hmm maybe 99 cents?” Bahaha. Good memories. I also love that you donate supplies. I hope that one day I will be able to help out our local schools. Until then I will continue to build my collection of art supplies. My favorite dollar store art supplies aren't even art supplies lol -- I use a glass picture frame with the stock photo flipped over inside as a palette and a scraper to get dried paint off. Reduces plastic waste as well ^^

Hi another tip for the hair if it is in even more awkward place is the silicone cupcake cases because you can hold them easily with your hands and really pick up all the hair(this is what I have used on my cats hair and my own)

Awesome haul. I have found lots off good art supplies at DT. Thanks for the tip on sanding the poster board. I just got 3 oz glitter tempura paints there. For a buck! Several colors. Can't wait to try them. I also got a dog grooming glove that takes the extra fur off as you pet the dog. But I got it to use for my cats and it works great!!!

For the paint pallets, go to Kroger’s and grab those clear and rubber backed ice cube trays. Not only are they super cheap, but you get Kroger’s points which help with gas! Win win lol

I went to the dollar tree the other day, and there were these plug in LED lamps with a really sleek design. I took a chance, even though I thought it would be a super weak light - but hey, it was just for a dollar. To my surprise, the light is as sleek out of the box as in it, it has three brightness settings, and it was only a dollar! I am honestly considering going back and buying a couple more as back ups.....

I often wonder at your fastidiousness about art supplies. I used to be a bit on the thriftier side for art supplies and I had to work so much harder to get my art to look good. I know that if your a good enough artist you can make anything work and look good or great! There is a reason some papers cost more, some paints cost more, Not everything needs to be top of the line rated. Yet if you want to work smarter not harder sometimes you just have to crack open the wallet! I like your "finds" at the $ Store and hope you keep going to find the bargains we all can use!
