What a gorgeous orange kitty! They are definitely playful and goofy. A sudden change in cat food will have them barfing, when he feels all better you can slowly sprinkle your preferred brand in his food until its 100% your brand. It helps their tummies adjust. As for Nori hissing, thats him saying "Okay I'm good for now" and setting boundaries!

Such a little cutie! Thank you for sharing him! It looks like Nori's going to be an amazing big brother. When looking for appropriate play, you want to see them taking turns (like switching who is on top when wrestling and who is chasing or being chased) and taking breaks when someone says they've had enough. Growling, hissing, or angry meows are a great way to communicate "I need a break!" They'll probably settle on smaller signals as they get to know each other better, but clear communication is what's most important. You can help Flapjack learn some self control by redirecting him to a toy when Nori disengages to nap. That'll teach him to entertain himself and will prevent any strain on their relationship. Cats are usually more patient with tiny kittens, but Flap will eventually outgrow his "kitten license" and Nori will give him a telling off. Buuuut you can also just teach him manners by redirecting him to solo play when he's being an annoying little brother haha

I've always learned to let cats figure it out themselves. That being said, a kitten is the same as a toddler. The kitten we had needed some guidance on when to nap. I'd just hold him my arms so she couldn't go anywhere else and within 2 minutes she was fast asleep.

Slow introductions are important. All the people saying they just winged it got LUCKY. If the initial intro goes wrong, it’s incredibly difficult to recover because the prey/predator dynamic was already established. Don’t risk it!!

He’s a big boy already. So exciting. I’ve always just introduced my pets right away. I didn’t bother with slow introductions. They just learned their boundaries on their own and before I knew it they were besties

This whole adventure has been SO SWEET to follow and I’m so happy that everything is going so well! I think you and Mark did a great job with their introduction and set them off on the right foot. From here, it’s just learning boundaries for them but that’s with every cat. ❤ If food is a concern moving forward, I suggest looking into the Surepet microchip feeders! I have 3, and it’s very useful when you have to keep food separate without having to constantly supervise. They’re pricey, but with some basic care they last a while (my oldest one is 5 years old now!).

Hi Tuna - CONGRATS on new kitty!! Those pop tents are the best ones. We have one and a cube and Beans insists on flattening the cube and just sitting on it flat. XD Also yay all the spooky/halloween cat toys!
