What an EXCELLENT episode. Nick, what a thrill it was to see a shift within you in this interview. Bringing Martha in as a guest, enhanced the message you've been communicating for years and vice versa. You guys were a great complement to one another in spirit and in practice. Like you, I have Martha's books and have used her teachings and insights to elevate my life and frequency. As you learned last Friday, I am receiving the fruits of seeking and being in a higher frequency, living in integrity, and being the art of my life. It is so exciting to live this way and when you "get it," you want to share with others so they can too! This is amazing stuff and you are right - this messaging is changing lives and thus will change the world. I know this to be true and I'm right on board with you! Good stuff!

Love this discussion on creativity and anxiety! As an art therapist, we’ve known for years how creativity quiets fear, and it’s exciting to see more people exploring this. You mentioned creativity on one side of the brain and fear on the other-adding bilateral stimulation can really amplify the calming effects. For example, drawing or painting back and forth across a page engages both hemispheres, similar to EMDR. To take it further, try choosing a color for each sense and visualizing something positive while painting-this combines creativity, sensory awareness, and bilateral stimulation for a powerful brain reset!

Anxiety is like being haunted! So well said, best description Ive ever heard because it is very hard to try convey to people that very feeling.

I have to say, Martha's end KIST advice actually made me cry, and I can't remember when I last cried. The whole interview was absolutely brilliant . So much wisdom and synergy between the two of you. But KIST - or Kind Internal Self Talk is exactly what I needed to hear in this moment. I will be listening to this again and again. Thank you both so much.

What a high energy discussion. I’ve followed both of you and it is so exciting to feel the synergy of you two together. You’ve each been practicing this kind of living for a long time and your experience radiates. I would love to see Martha in any of your online workshop opportunities. I want to see her paintings!

I loved this interview, especially the “KIST” advice It made me tearful as I could recognise my own anxiety and Martha’s advice just resonated so much for me. Along with the link to being creative which is the only time I don’t feel anxious. Making art is freedom from anxiety for me so I’m determined to make it a top priority in my life. Thank you for this podcast it was just brilliant!❤

Hello. New subscriber here. Just found your channel a few days ago. This discussion is basically the 'camera trap' Martha mentioned that fell into my lap at just the right moment! This past year has been challenging for me, starting with the loss of my precious pup of 14 years to the anxiety from current events of late (I'm from Canada😟) and everything in between. Your channel will become my daily dose of creative inspiration, which I have been sadly lacking. And I will have a lot of catching up to do with your over 900 videos! Thank-you so much for creating this channel and sharing.😊 Regards, Sherri 🇨🇦

Fear is a response to an ETERNALl threat to life and limb. Anxiety is a response to an INTERNAL conflict and emotional threat. This is the crucial distinction.

Fantastic discussion. I wonder how people in art therapy, who have experienced trauma, work through strong feelings of distress (including fear) when creating art. Wouldn’t this trigger the amygdala?

It’s a paradox, that with so many people who can tell you exactly how to fix yourself, Americans are at peak crazy.
