Your channel never ceases to put a smile on my face and warm my heart. In my opinion, one of the many reasons you have such lovely kiddos is because of the way the two of you speak to each other with both respect and admiration and because you genuinely enjoy being together. It is one thing to put on a smile for the camera, but it is clear that there is a lot of love between the two of you and your children. xo Heather🇨🇦

I often plant seedlings to get things moving quickly and I don’t think of it as cheating. I think it’s really smart. I have put seeds in those little pots that can be planted in the garden later. When I am a bit late getting things into the ground then I will cheat every time because it’s all about the harvest at my house. Love your garden, it’s excellent.

Am really glad to see Bri wearing gloves. My neighbor contracted a type of bacteria from the soil in her garden through a cut in her hand. She experienced fevers, swelling and other odd symptoms before her medical professional finally diagnosed it. She had several rounds of antibiotics and finally after a year was well enough to garden again. Never handle soil, especially that which has had feces mixed in, with your bare hands. Art should also be wearing work gloves during all his choring.

Folks, when I plant out transplants, I like do dig out the holes then fill them with water once the water has soaked into the ground I plant the plants directly on top cover them and water again once only. The heat of the sun draws the water up past the roots keeping them moist until they have settled in and are sending new roots deeper finding there own moisture.i have been doing this for over 50yrs with great success and very rarely have to water them again regardless of how hot or dry the weather gets. Good luck with the garden, the amount of work you are putting into it deserves a great harvest in return

Some call it a “hola” hoe but my gramps called it a “stirrup” hoe which I still have. Back when Martha Stewart was new she had a similar triangle shaped hand tool that is the best weeder and cultivator I’ve ever had. Different sizes for the job. One thing Art is teaching your son how to lay down garden tools especially his hoe. My gramps shared his scars from stepping on a hoe a shovel and a pitch fork so that we’d not be injured so badly. Of course we’d forget but not for long. My sister lost 2 adult teeth when hoe smashed her mouth and broke her nose. Lessons learned and he’d call it respect for all tools. We’ve had 100+ weather very fast especially for young plants. So many scorched cus who believes the weatherman any more. So cheating is what I have to do now cus impossible to find more seeds and it’s too late to do all over again. Got shade cloth out now but can’t imagine if so hot now what’s summer going to be like. Water and water is daily here and then a drought schedule will begin very soon as we struggle for one drop of rain. When our climate was better I’d hurry to plant seedlings before the rain. Nothing better for plants than pure liquid gold from the heavens ....... I still can hear those words from my gram. We would trim the roosters spurs just for protection to flock cus there’s always one that has no fear. One rooster hated men so would attack and jump on their back....got pretty bloody. But those are gorgeous chickens and their eggs will be like Easter every day. Hard working layers too. Well another super video filled with so much and lots of fun with the kids. Doesn’t get much better than another day with your family. AND today seeing a berry bush being saved just in time. Like the snake kids got to learn difference between a weed and food plants cus we all know they love to chop anything with their trusty tools. Best planned videos are great BUT the unplanned ones even better. See ya next time ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ok so the feathers on the rooster near the tail are called sickle feathers. You can trim spurs by popping a hot potato on them. Then grab pliers and an outer layer will slide off. It’s probably one of the easiest friendliest method

I moved from TX to VA and the difference in gardening is amazing, even though they’re both warm climates. TX was basically 2 growing seasons (feb-June then sept-oct) separated by a killing summer heat/drought where only the toughest plants struggled through. Here, the garden gets started later in the spring but *keeps going* all summer into the fall!

one thing I use here on my raspberry farm is the white clothes line that has the nylon inside.....I have rows planted alone fences then I run the line on the opposite side to hold the berry plants up as they grow, not only does this help them but makes it soo much easier when I am picking them. Also I have put up a lot of purple martin houses as they eat the bugs so I use no sprays on my berries at all and they do great. God bless.
