It's amazing that such small movements- everyday movements can be so hard to do and so tiring!

David, hearing your voice brings me back to the 1st New York Feldenkrais training program that you led many years ago. Wonderful to see that you are still going strong!!

In the middle of the lesson, I was interrupted, and I had to get up. For the next 30 minutes I felt like I was in a small boat. Thank you for that.

Thank you so much david..I found feldencrai somatic movements last year and a teacher on zoom...I have suffered anxiety all my life because of trauma and I fell ill in 208 collapsing with muscle spasm through my whole body..the pain was incredible....tight breathing is how I think my problems started...

Thank you! I feel my pelvic floor muscles relaxed. There's a sensation of an expansion in that muscles. And my jaw feels more free.

I was getting too caught up in doing the movements properly and worrying I wasn't doing it right. . But in spite of getting mixed up I still felt relaxed at the end of the session. I think after a couple more tries it will get even better. Thanks.

This lesson takes one into a deeply relaxed state. I've done it twice and the before and after effects are dramatic. I will be doing it many more times in future to get out of the sympathetic dominant state into a relaxed parasympathetic state🙂

I got tight suboccipitals all the time and I noticed they tightened on me during this lesson. I realized the whole time I was looking straight up at the “horizon” and then something clicked. They say when using the computer screen to have the majority of “text” at 30 degrees below the horizon right so taht eyes and neck don’t tense. Because i know the eyes are connected to the suboccipitals. WHen at the end of the lesson you mentioned looking at a soft spot down where the ceiling meets the wall, things softened up on me. Should we always be letting our eyes look down off the horizon in everything we do then?? I think I’ve been “trying to hard” (hence the tight jaw right) to keep my head up and not go into forward head posture, even when walking outside, that I think that’s what is tensing my suboccipitals. AM I correct in my thinking?? Maybe this could be a life changer for me because I was working so hard (I Know, don’t get on me,) but to sense if I was doing things lightly, that I realized that my eyes weren’t even moving with my jaw until you said something, so I definitely need to revist this lesson many times, but the big question is: Should the eyes always be down from “horizon” to keep suboccipitals relaxed, during all lessons, so you shouldn’t be looking straight up at the ceiling? ANd should it be the same in all normal activity?? Thanks Reply

Which series of lessons would you recommend for someone like me who has long lasting anxiety and chronic pain. I have been trapped in these patterns for years and it is all in the body. Thank you…I just did this lesson and it helped a lot as prior to doing it I was just vibrating with horrible anxiety which has been exhausting me.
