Very interesting! I've never even heard of glass pens. I might have to experiment with those.

I didn't expect to enjoy them, tbh, because of my inability to make nib pens do what I want them to, but the glass pens are pretty zen to work with! Let me know if you pick one up, and what you think of it!

Cool video Galen. I use mostly brush and quill but its good to learn what others are into and using themselves.

if your going to be inking comics then you need the big bottles of black ink, there's no other way around that! that's like the main ingredient and also in principle as the default when it come to outlines and shadow works. so telling people to use a smaller size is nonsense! even if there starting out but that's the thing they will be making lot's of mistake and a small bottle just won't do it! so the correct answer is to get your self a big bottle. you only need to get one in black color this may actually also save you more money in the long run. as for the colors you can get them smaller unless you like things to be colorful.

100% agreed on the big bottles! I generally recommend buying small sizes to test things out and make sure they work for what's needed before dropping a larger sum of cash on a big bottle that ultimately might not get used. Thanks for the comment!

@@ArtbyGalen there mindset needs to be changed in knowing which products is best to get! This requires one to do there homework and research on the matter! You see you're only going to get two types of people that is one of ambitious and one seeking to be professional. anyone else is going to be behind the whatever line? So with that said those are the only two candidates who would matter to you the most as for the others they not that interest in, investing all there time and could careless. So when you speaking or teach those are the only once actually listening and taking action! Therfore speak to them only as if they where already been doing this for years and know what needs to take place here. In other words you don't need to sugar coated as if your trying to please everyone it just not possible!

Hello.I tried the Dr. Ph Martin White Ink, and sometimes whenever I ink over it with micron pens, it'll stop the ink from coming out after I go over it. Why is that? Is there A right, way, and A wrong way to do that? Thankfully, it doesn't always do that with the micron pens. Am I suppose to wait until the white ink is completely dry before I go over it? Also, what's the best brush to use with it? I currently use A Velvetouch Princeton round brush.

Hey, thanks for the comment. I find it to be best practice to take a sample of the paper you ink on and just test out various combinations to see how they interact with one another. I would def recommend letting everything dry before doing new layers. But I'm positive that doing a test card will help you figure out what they pens/inks will and won't do together. I've personally had weird experiences using waterproof inks with brushes and then making details with waterproof liner markers... and for some reason, one on top of the other made it less waterproof and more prone to smudging. I personally don't think the brushes matter too much, so long as they produce the types of lines you want. I hope that helps, and i hope you're able to get it all sorted out the way you want!

@@ArtbyGalen Does Dr. PH Martin's Bamboo White Ink works the same was, or is it different from the other White Ink?

@@Launchpad05 I haven't tried the bamboo white, but I would wager it would function somewhat similarly. All you can really do is test it out if you're curious.
