I've got a weird feeling that finding one style would be still connected to process, in a way. Because a lot of people say what you guys said : a style is something just happens to you naturally, making mistakes, experiencing life, but also in finding a way to work that is doing it for you ? I mean very concretely, doing things a certain way in photoshop for example, with a lot of selection and layer modes and custom brushes etc etc will give you a different vibe than working more like a painter thinking about brush strokes and the texture of things on the canvas, right ? So maybe the idea for beginners would be to try different things, have fun with it ( maybe yes, looking at other people way of doing things if you like them or just come up with your own ) and you will find a style ? is this a good idea ? what do you think ? I have been struggling with this specific question for a long time now, because i love a lot of different things, people, styles, etc. and you talking about cutting out every stylistic reference, taking a break from artstation, facebook, instagram, and other is making me think...
